    So I was left with my newborn son while his mother goes to her appointment. She left the bags of milk in the fridge but didn tell me how to set up the bag to the bottle nor how to warm it up. I really needed this video. 😅 it helped so much

      @georgeperez8171 Glad the video was helpful! 😅 Don’t worry, you’re doing great! To warm the milk, just place the bag in a bowl of warm water (not boiling) for a few minutes. Once it's warm, pour it into the bottle and give it a gentle shake. You’ve got this, super dad! 💪👶

    Very informative video and got all the doubts cleared. One last doubt... can we mix 2 milk bags stored at different dates and time for feeding at single time? Please clarify

    • @MedicalCentric
      @MedicalCentric  10 месяцев назад +18

      Yes, you can mix breast milk from different pumping sessions stored at different times, but it's important to follow safe practices. First, ensure both portions are cooled in the refrigerator before combining. Mix only milk stored at the same temperature, and use the date of the oldest milk as the reference for storage duration. Check the milk for any changes in smell or appearance before use, and gently mix the milk to redistribute the fat. Always label the milk with the dates and times of pumping, and consult healthcare providers for personalized advice, especially if your baby has specific health needs. Remember not to refreeze once thawed, and use within recommended storage times for safety.

    May I ask. What is the proper way to prepare the breastmilk that's coming from refrigerator? Can I also use hot water to warm it? How long it will last after I take out the breastmilk from the fridge? Thank you

    • @MedicalCentric
      @MedicalCentric  2 месяца назад +1

      @kHimpot00 To safely prepare breast milk from the refrigerator, you can warm it by placing the bottle in a bowl of warm water or running it under warm tap water. Avoid using hot water or microwaving, as it can destroy nutrients. Once you've taken breast milk out of the fridge, it can last at room temperature for about 4 hours. If you don't use it within that time, it's best to discard it.

    • @MedicalCentric
      @MedicalCentric  7 месяцев назад +2

      It's generally safe to store liquids at room temperature for 3-4 hours, but for longer periods, refrigeration is recommended to prevent bacterial growth and maintain freshness.

    Warm water, What is the temperature of the water?

    • @MedicalCentric
      @MedicalCentric  3 месяца назад +1

      @samihayqoub2774 Warm water for breast milk storage should be around 37°C to 40°C (98.6°F to 104°F), which is similar to body temperature. This helps in gently warming the milk without overheating it, ensuring it’s safe for your baby.

      @MedicalCentric  9 дней назад

      @poojadhakulkar6321 Yes, you can safely carry expressed breast milk from work to home. Make sure to store it in a clean, sealed container and keep it in a cooler bag with ice packs to maintain a consistent cool temperature during transport. Once home, you can transfer it to the fridge and use it within 4 days, or freeze it for longer storage. Always label the milk with the date for freshness tracking.

    I am about to go back to work my baby is 2 months and I will go back when she hits 3 months, for now I am just breastfeeding but my works takes 8 hrs ,what do you recommend?

    • @MedicalCentric
      @MedicalCentric  2 месяца назад +1

      @faithkwalimba149 Balancing work and breastfeeding can be challenging, but with some planning, you can manage it effectively. Here are a few tips:
      1. **Pump Regularly**: Start pumping and storing milk now so you have a supply ready when you return to work. Aim to pump every 2-3 hours during your workday to match your baby's feeding schedule.
      2. **Create a Feeding Plan**: Develop a feeding schedule with your caregiver. Ensure they are comfortable handling breast milk and know how to warm it properly.
      3. **Communicate with Your Employer**: Inform your employer about your need for breaks to pump. Many workplaces are required to provide a private space and reasonable time for this purpose.
      4. **Use Breastfeeding-Friendly Clothing**: Wear clothes that allow easy access for pumping and feeding.
      5. **Seek Support**: Look for breastfeeding support groups or consult with a lactation consultant to help with any challenges you might face.
      By preparing ahead of time and utilizing available resources, you can successfully continue breastfeeding while managing your work responsibilities.

    How long breast milk is safe at refrigrater ? ( lower portion of fridge ) not in freezer

    • @MedicalCentric
      @MedicalCentric  3 месяца назад +1

      @arslaniftikhar5535 Breast milk can be safely stored in the refrigerator (lower portion) for up to 4 days. Just make sure it’s kept in clean, sealed containers and always label the date. Use the oldest milk first to ensure freshness for your baby!

    can we store breast milk in steel container and to how extent we can use the stored milk in steel container

    • @MedicalCentric
      @MedicalCentric  13 дней назад

      @shravsshravs6990 Yes, breast milk can be stored in a clean, food-grade stainless steel container as it is non-reactive and safe for storage. However, it’s essential to follow the proper storage guidelines: freshly expressed breast milk can be kept at room temperature for up to 4 hours, in the refrigerator for up to 4 days, and in the freezer for up to 6 months. Always label the container with the date and time of expression, and ensure the container is properly sealed to maintain freshness.

    Hi! If I do power pump which start 10 am and end at 11 am, should I count the time of room temperature from 10-14 or 11-15?

    • @MedicalCentric
      @MedicalCentric  2 месяца назад +1

      @busratferdous3870 You should count the time from when you finish pumping, so if your power pumping session ends at 11 am, the room temperature storage time should be counted from 11 am to 3 pm (for 4 hours at room temperature). This helps ensure your milk stays fresh and safe for use!

    • @MedicalCentric
      @MedicalCentric  2 месяца назад

      @faithkwalimba149 Returning to work while breastfeeding can be challenging, but planning ahead can make it smoother. Here are a few recommendations:
      1. **Pump and Store Milk**: Start pumping and storing milk in advance. This ensures you have enough for your baby when you’re away. Invest in a good breast pump and storage containers.
      2. **Create a Feeding Schedule**: Establish a pumping schedule that aligns with your work hours. Aim to pump every 2-3 hours during your workday to maintain milk supply and relieve engorgement.
      3. **Inform Your Employer**: Let your employer know about your needs for breaks to pump. Many workplaces are required to provide a private space and reasonable time for breastfeeding or pumping.
      4. **Find Support**: If possible, connect with other working mothers or join a breastfeeding support group for tips and encouragement.
      5. **Consider Breastfeeding-Friendly Attire**: Wear clothing that makes pumping easier and quicker.
      With these steps, you can maintain breastfeeding while balancing your work responsibilities.
