- Here is a new demo of my DS 250. I've chosen a great standard, Misty, and found a backtrack with a nice double time feel and a B3 organ (it's from my Aebersold series, volume 49 entitled Sugar).
It's an incredible guitar. I hope you will appreciate the tone of it.
Cheers.
Oh so nice. This might be the sweetest version of Misty I've ever heard. Love the organ too ! That instrument has the best tones - just excellent ! My compliments to the luthier. And the playing is just nice as spice !
Thank you!
Fantastic playing, great tone and that Danial Slamman built ES-250 style is amazing!
!!!
Beautiful playing and great tone.
C'est toujours un plaisir d'écouter une nouvelle vidéo. Merci d'avoir partagé :)
+Eli dlk Et c'est toujours un plaisir de te savoir au bout du fil :)
Great playing. Love the sound of that guitar. Daniel Slaman is a very talented luthier, dedicated to preserving great jazz sound.
Sweet goodness in that tone and a masterful touch. Great job on my favorite tune.
Thank you Larry. In this indeed a great tune, way underrated. Best to you.
Could listen for hours🥰🎶🎸🎼😍
great playing !!!!!
I'm in love with your harmonization.
Thank you!
You are so goood guitar player !!!!
Love this!
Thanks!
Great stuff Fred, keep it coming!
My pleasure Peter. Thx.
Great sound! Was the B3 backing track from band in a box?
Salut fred, je cherchais à te joindre dernièrement. Je cherche à acheter une archtop, et je voulais ton avis éclairé ;) tu es sur Fb ?
This is what Gibsons should sound like. :)))
Thanks Murat. Unfortunately Gibson doesn't produce these great guitars anymore. Fortunately enough great, luthiers like DAniel Slaman are now carrying the torch. Cheers.
Salut Fred (!) I now have 2 hollowbodies one bullt by the late Murat Sezen. You can sort of hear it on 'To Ornette s 85th birth day where ı played guitar, kick drum and the high hat at the same time. The other, built by Adnan Çelik can be heard on iPhone recording 'Gitarı konuşturan adam Murat Taner Both with Optima Gold Roundwounds. :Make sure you let me know when u are 'round İstanbul :)))
Murat Taner thanks for the tips and your kind invitation. I will get in touch if I come to Istanbul. Best & take care.
You are most welcome... Take care :)))
Your arrangements are fantastic..did you write them ?
Thanks Seth. No, I improvise them when I am playing. Nothing written. Cheers.
@@FredArchtop I grew up with Erroll Garner playing in my fathers bar...boy was I lucky and didn't know it
@@sethgoldman15 How lucky you are Seth! You must have wonderful stories to tell; Would love to hear. Best and take car.
Hi,
How do you setup the pickup and whats your preferred tone / volume setting?
Hi, no real adjustment possible for this pickup. The pole pieces are designed to accomodate a 12-54 gauge but each pole piece cannot be adjusted independently. Tone knob is at 2 (treble ends almost rolled off) and volume is about 8. Hope this helps.
Fred Archtop Cheers that's exactly how I've been playing mine recently, with tone just barely on and volume adjusted to need (I have a DS150). I was asking about how low / high you keep the pickup because in my experience minor adjustments made much more a difference with the CC compared to others. I am yet to find the sweet spot.
Nice acquisition ! A DS 150 is a great guitar from Daniel's workshop. As for the distance between the PU and the strings, measures taken from the basement of the PU (the black part) show 7 mm. I have lowered the PU much more than it was when the guitar went out Daniel's workshop. Enjoy you guitar !
..would you play Misty for me?..oh wait...
i just listed to it while thinking why it’s so painful to do so. it’s not the guitar. i’m sorry.
