Every serious survival book, instructor & survival school should know and teach the fire roll 🔥 also known as the Rudiger Roll because it it the easiest most practical fire-making method starting with nothing!
This is a fun way to start a fire..I have only used it in the woods a couple of times, once on video. But it is still fun. I learned this trough a channel named Boggycreekbeast..he is the king of this!! I can not believe the resources and his speed. I bet it was pretty cool meeting Creek.
I have yet to try it in the woods, I will at some point. I'll have to check out his channel. And meeting Creek wasn't at all what I expected. I figured he would be arrogant like the only reason anyone was there was to see him. I was DEAD WRONG he is a very down to earth guy, super nice and very knowledgeable. I'll have to admit sometimes I'm a little close minded, I need to work on that.
Boggy Creek Beast has taken this method from a simple trick and turned it into a true primitive method. He has performed this in nature with all natural material numerous times. Check out his most recent video here : ruclips.net/video/Ir8_swpIK6E/видео.html
Running OOOO steel wool under hot water, and letting it dry out and rust. And then shake the powdered rust from the steel wool. And use that instead of the ash. This will give an extremely hot ember,... Oh ,, you find steel wool on an Ironwood tree...
Thanks for the tip, I'll have to try it out. I just went out and harvested a bunch of steel wool from the ironwood tree. But it's still a little green I'm gonna let it dry out a little, lol. Thanks for watching, take care my friend.
Yes it is, that's what I've always known it as too. Regardless of what people call it it's a pretty cool fire starting method. Thanks for watching my friend, take care.
Your correct, the Rudiger roll has been traced back to the POW's of WW2. It was documented by a german solider with the name Rudiger. As for cinderolla, I think he just wanted to put his on spin on it. Thanks for watching, take care my friend.
I've never seen anyone take so long to prepare a fire roll in my life. He did a terrible job of explaining it too. Takes me about 30 sec from start to finish
Agreed. The fastest that I have ever seen it performed was by Boggy Creek Beast. He can get an ember in UNDER 1 SECOND! What makes Boggy's demonstration so impressive is that he does not use the top board to help roll the cotton up with. By using the top board you generate heat in the roll which in turn creates a faster ember. Boggy uses only his hand to roll the cotton up with. Only then does he finally use the top board to roll and ember out. Video of him getting an ember in under 1 second click here : ruclips.net/video/b88v00pjbVk/видео.html

He can make it too. But because of demonstration he totally delayed
@facksnack yep, boggy creek beast is the absolute best at this. nobody has come up with more material using this method than he has.
Too much talking . Too inexperienced. Too much time! I could have cooked a hamburger by the end of this bs.
