As a now old Punk, who saw them live 11 times starting as a 14 year old in ‘77…this has increasingly become one of my favourite Clash songs. Thank you for uploading this version.
Fantastic!, thank you for these uploads, hope they get to stay here. This is one of my fave clash tunes, top shelf. The drum sound here is amazing...... it was 1978 for effs sake!
Give'em enough rope is an underrated album... it's an album inbetween the debut album and London Calling. I really like the songs on this album. thanks!
@@Heston68 Producers, Managers, Arrangers...etc... only think about selling and making money ... even if it means killing a masterpiece, ruining a career! They can even blow up the only Band that matters ... disgusting !!! Fortunately, sometimes there are guys like Guy Stevens Thank you for sharing and showing this pure masterpiece ...👍
Yeah well an alternative mix or whatever you want to call it. It has a vocal and bits of guitar and that aren't in the finished version so technically could be called an alternate version.
@@Heston68 Hi, I noticed on the second playthrough that Joe's vocal is diff from the vinyl. Mick's vocals always added a lot of emotion, particularly on GEER

Thank you for uploading this version.
cheers Mate !!
well done
I've always liked the bass on this track. With headphones and a good bass input; you get to hear it!

Cheers. I think they'll stay.
Thanks for sharing this! I miss Mick’s backing vocals in this version but this is great.

I remember buying that record when it came out and thinking this is great whilst I’m sure if memory serves me right the press slated it.
Totally underrated some fantastic songs on it, got it in 78
agreed
This one sounds more agressive and badass. Thank you!
great songs but i prefer the one of the album you know with "youahhhh" but thanks for sharing I always appreciate to hear Clash stuff
Why this was never a single is beyond me.
Too long.
Repated use of the word 'cunts' probably didn't help
I like this version better . Actually prob my least favorite song in the clash catalog .. or at least top 3 ... Thanks for posting my man
ThNks for the upload xxx
great bass!
It's not the same without Mick's vocals, but it's cool to hear both versions.
Why did the Clash only play this most fantastic song 4 times in concert? There are no live versions available.
There is a live recording from Aylesbury in 1978 but it is very poor quality.
wow 🤩
🔥The Clash Forever🔥
True
Muy bueno! Dónde fue grabado?
Basing Street. This was before they took it to America and put on all the guitar and vocal overdubs at the Automatt in San Francisco.

It's just a demo version it's nt an alternative. It's probably the track laid down before Jones has added his bits

This is just without the lead guitar and mick's vocals. ASomebody cut him out
It's a different vocal take from Joe as well. It's an early mix from before it was polished up with extra guitars and backing vocals.

Nah not better than the album. Too soft and quiet
A spliff a pound a half a pint of brown this is the way we spell Camden Town
