I like how Kim changes stances with a new saga in every SNK storyline saga. Most of the characters hardly change stances albeit with more detail movements.
SNK knowing that they couldn't compete in graphics/visual power, at least delivery greatly in artistic effort the best they could in the 90s. After the early 2000s they become truly cheaper, but until then actually KOF was a notable franchise for that kind of artistic direction. To me much better than Capcom. Like chars getting new outfits, sometimes new stances, new moves much more often than in SF. Even a minor character like Kensou already had over 6 different outfits in the series if I'm not mistaken, while SF is too traditionalist and sticks to the same thing, except only SF5-6. And some chars get different stances like most notably Robert. Again in stances, SF tends to keep the same things.

2:48 Return of the pants.
I think 2002 was the pinnacle imo but Kof 13's is decent too
The pants were postponed until 2023 for a reason
1:33 SVC too the other ps2 Kof games

His flowing pants were some of the best sprite work in history
I think after SNK made Dong-Hwan's pants in MotW, the devs went "Alright, that's how we animate Kim's pants from now on"
Error, Motw es del año 1999 y los pantalones de kim se hicieron fluidos desde 2002

Kim's pants have more animation than some animes
ikr
When you type "Kim Kaphwan" in a search engine. The first auto complete suggestions is "pants" above "wife" and "sons" 😂😅
The pants of justice
KOF 02 was the game changer. Though in a general way, outside KOF, it was Garou MOTW (1999) that started it all.

Damn from 1:32 it's like where too many devs have taken jiggle physics today.
But both are eye candy
2:43 Ahhh yes, how can I forget the time Kim was kidnapped by the mafia and they put him some cement pants
We gotta appreciate the best animated pants in Fighting Games.
Now that's the jiggle physics I'm talking about

So it was CVS that really started the pants trend. 2002 did it best imo
