This is exactly what I've been looking for to paint my old beater van. It doesn't have to look fancy, I just want to stop the rust and protect what I have. Thanks!
You can save a few bucks when you run out of thinner by just using gasoline. Non ethanol tho, so it'll be premium most likely. Back when my dad and I were building thermal storage tanks from old 500 and 1000 gallon propane tanks, brush painted 2 of those before that got old and started thinning the Tremclad Medium Blue with gas. Works great and looking for the same consistency as you stated. Get that $68 down to $60. Looks great and love the deutz
Great job on the tractor! I’m looking to paint a few gates with Rustolium thinned out with acetone at 5:2. Thanks for sharing your video. Harbor Fright have decent HVLP paint guns for cheap!
Nice job , I painted a couple of stock trailers with a roller I noticed your seat I took a couple knee rubber things that were at a farm store women work in garden on them . Then a couple rolls of duct tape the silver was cheaper and the rattle can spray paint black . Lots more comfort and no water on jeans .
Like it a lot, wife sure did clean up good for that wedding, nice job! Hey I'm about to paint my ol Kubota so I'm looking for tips, I actually have one for your Deutz, I've redone my zero turns and leaf vac trailers and a once or twice over with Rustoleum rattle can (or cheaper yet with your gun) clear coat does wonders, use matte and it'll still luster natural paint, not gaudy high gloss that acentuates swirls and mistakes. It really helps with small chips and nicks and UV fading over the years. You helped me out though thanks, I'm gonna use a gun on my tractor instead of rattle cans, I have a few used for auto laying around I gotta find tho...
You said you knocked down scratches and chips . Did you sand whole panel or just those spots. Mine is faded and I wonder if paint will stick also Did you use any primer on bare metal or just paint right over it?
I just sanded the spots if it was a scratch. Anything flaking I hit with a wire wheel. I didn't use any primer. I find Tremclad rust paint sticks well without it.
Get some of the hardener they sell for your next time and it'll shine like wet forever.

Maybe it's the John Deere paint that makes the tractors work so well. Great job dressing up the Deutz. Radar
I love it on those scratches I would use a small brush or cotton swab and dab the spots and surprise you won't see it
Looks great I'm going to do that on my van
