China treated Indian students badly during Covid pandemic and ruined their academic years. During Covid pandemic in China way back in 2019, most of the students flew to India. Once the Covid became lean, China didn't allow them to go to China for 2 to 3 years despite pressure from Indian government and hence those students lost 2 to 3 years of their academic life. Meanwhile, Galvan also happened. So, PM Modi took countermeasures by cancelling the direct flights to China. Since then, he's maintaining the same status quo.

Dr. Cheema, that is true that businessmen do suffer due to no direct flights between India and China. But this is secondary issue. In fact, after COVID, Chinese Airlines is suffering from heavy financial losses. On the other hand, Airlines business in India is growing very fast. After COVID, more than 6 trillion USD has been withdrawn from Chinese stock exchange and China is bleeding badly right now.

Cheema sab, I see a parallel in Pakistan’s and India’s approaches. India says no flights till you solve the border dispute with China. Pakistan in a way does the same; solve Kashmir issue as per our liking; until then we will not REALLY dismantle terror infrastructure. Regarding the outcome from this kind of posturing, the economic downside for India is marginal. For Pakistan, it has become an existential threat, radicalizing your society from inside, squeezing out space for moderation and damaging its reputation abroad. That’s the difference.
Not only this, India didn't allow any flight from Pokhra, Nepal as the airport at this Pokhra was built by China. As a result huge investment of China is now unproductive and Nepal is incurring huge loss and burdens it with additional interst burden.
There is only one hotel in Islamabad. Lately a tourist had a very bad experience. It is a horrible place.
