No matter what anyone says, this man is exceptional. Blessed with this kind of talent, I don’t think he even gives a crap what people think of him. I know I wouldn’t!!
it is not about talent... it is about hard work and consistency, so please stop saying this, talent implies the fact that he doesn't have to do lot of work to be here, but it is not true! I think you understand what I said :)

This is one of the best representations of how Chopin felt when he composed this. You really feel the anger in this piece, because at that moment there was a raid in his home country (Poland).
. @somchaisaelee328 Indeed sir, I wouldn't call it aggression, but rather a feeling of anger that the powerlessness and despondency must have given when hearing about the invasion of his home country. That's what I hear in this piece.

Amazed at his interpretation, but was quickly blown away by Richter's recording of the same etude which followed. There are pianists, then there is Richter.
Of course he can play classical as his accents and outstand of the melody, but to be able to play this impressive entertaining interpretation he have to be classical enough, so for sure he is beyond classical musicians, another whole new dimension

this was just for a tv show, he is a show man and wants to impress the non-classical music audience. Go listen her stuff for classical-music audience, his touch is superb. This was many years ago, since he suffered an injury and started with Bach Goldberg Variations, he changed, said by him. Go listen to that
At 1:55 he completely skipped a part of ending (that for me is outrageous). He has amazing skils, not matched by anyone, but i have to see him play to enjoy, cannot listen to his music in a car, would prefer other pianists.

Did Gould respect the composers? Why is everyone so obsessed about 'respecting the composer's intentions' anyhow? As if everybody just decided to not have the right to an opinion about the written text.
Nice technique, but I don't know what makes him feel entitled to cut out some parts.. Interpreting a song and its dynamics and cohesiveness is one thing, but skipping some parts is another.
Lang Lang has obviously good technique but absolutely awful appalling taste and lack of the composers intentions. He's just a showman sullying the art of pianism and puts technique braggadocio above substance. Can't stand him Just forced myself to listen to it completely and toward the end at 1:55 he missed a few bars ffs His Liszt Don Juan was however brilliant. I'll concede
@@arnauddesarnaulds1932 yes. Although imo he played a stunning Liszt Don Juan his Liszt Hungarian rhapsody 2 was abysmal . His histrionics are off putting too. @@ciararespect4296 I guess I’m not the only one that liked his Don Juan! But yes, his interpretation for this piece is… well… interesting? It’s really quite obnoxious the way he plays this piece and Liszt’s Rhapsody’s. The fact that he decided not to play some of the bars towards the end as well pretty much sums up the fact that he doesn’t give a damn about the music itself or what Chopin intended the piece to be.
Contemptible review. Sounds like a major case of jealousy. Lang Lang is fabulous. Love Lang Lang. To quote Beethoven “To play a wrong note is insignificant; to play without passion is inexcusable.” Lang Lang embodies passion!

Excellent❤
Bravo maestro lang lang

The version you play when you are late for your train.

Lang Lang keeps raising the bar of his playing. I have never heard the Revolutionary Etude played at this high level. Very Amazing!
Richter maybe?
Lang Lang ❤❤❤ wow!
Un mostro assoluto di tecnica! Non approvo certe sue interpretezioni diciamo "libere" ma fanno parte del personaggio.
The greatest pianist ever.
Well Lang Lang is the best I've heard so far... Lol

Why did he leave out the passage before the end?
He left out more than that!
1:22 he left out 8 tacts
He is in a tv show so he had a limited time, in this case I think it was two minutes so he can’t play all the piece
Excellent !

Tem pianista que toca mil vezes melhor que o Lang Lang, ele transformar as peças dos maiores compositores em circo 😐
Verdade ele tocou rápido demais tem o andamento certo na partitura do Chopin,
It seemed a little bit odd, but overall, it is still good.
