I think hybe mentioning NJs destroying aespa is perfect example of how kpop company normally works. Its not only hybe ... I can bet every k-pop company has / had internal meetings about how to defeat the competitors in market and achieve thr peak. But.... I thought the same. Although I don't like him using that expression even if it was meant in the sense of beating the other group, I think its important to remember that he was talking to someone who might have had not very positive feelings when it comes to SM, the company Aespa belongs to. I think legal cases in the west are different than the east. Koreans seemed to be moved by sympathy instead of legal facts. For example the Johnny Depp and Amber Herd; Amber tried to gain public sympathy as a woman through emotions, but the facts did not back up her statements.

Bang didn't agree with the music, visuals and style of NJ and decided to come up with his own group. That's why NJ debuted during similar period as the other gg. The advertiser of that luxury brand group spoke out that it was not HYBE or Bang that led the girls to become ambassadors. But MHJ made a portfolio of each member and directly reached out to them. Same for coca-cola and other brands as well. Lessarfim was initially promoted as a group produced by MHJ (I don't know her international reputation, but she was known for top-notch producing in KOR for a long time) even though MHJ didn't agree with it.

She got her own label, and ownership in Hype as well. Hype only involvement is funding, as she did mention in one of her interviews. What’s she fighting for is her creative freedom and respect for what she do. She also mentioned the agreement btw her and Hype that they just let her label work independently.
