I just bought some of these from the Vicks/vapor rub brand and they're soooo overpriced but i'm sick and super congested right now. $12 for 3 tablets! crazy! i'm gonna try this. thanks :)
I think his looks like the best recipe for beginners. Everything you have listed you can find at any walmart. Idk about the mica powder but you dont have to have it.
Beautiful! I'm going to make this. I've really wanted to try them but to expensive! I could even make them as gifts, because I can't afford much there either, but this is thoughtful & affordable. I have almost all the stuff except citric acid!
Great video, thank you! I just made them, I only have a tray of 6 molds. And a lot of mix left over. Will it keep in the bowl until my molds set and I can keep making more? How long will the mix be good for outside of the mold?
When I made it, the mix reacted to the witch hazel and bubbled up out of its molds. How can I prevent that in the future? Do I just add the witch hazel slower?
So you dont have to have the mica powder? I like the option of not having to if not necessary. Thank you for sharing yoir video. I will be trying since i pick up random shape silicon molds on clearance, i can finally put them to use!❤😂
Wow. That's a lot of Mica. I'm always worried that it will stain my shower and use only the tiniest amounts. But now I see- perhaps I'm overly cautious :)
No, a bath bomb usually has some kind of oil or butter to condition the skin while you are immersed in water. One of the reasons ppl add polysorbate 80 to a b.bomb, so the ring of oil around the tub ( along with colorant, botanicals and glitter ) isn't as heavy or doesn't stick to ur tub as much. Shower steamers just add an aromatherapy boost.
Citric acid reacts with the baking soda to fizz enough to gradually release the fragrance into the shower air. No fizz, no release of oil into the air, just down the drain. Might try lemon juice?
Came here looking for a solution to this. I used sooooo much essential oil in like my third batch and still couldn’t smell anything. Wish I knew what else to do
It’s hard to smell just essential oils. Dissolve menthol crystals in alcohol and use in the place of essential oils and witch hazel. Or put the steamer in a small bag attached to the shower head so the smell is closer to your nose.
If you don’t have witch hazel, water should fine. But she doesn’t use the alcohol with menthol crystals ( a necessity for shower steamers) so I would think if you mix alcohol with the menthol crystal it should work ? I was taught the witch hazel is more for bath bombs.
No, there not just bath bombs. They're more simple- no butters or oils, no polysorbate 80, no glitter ( unless you want it but it's just going to wash down the drain). Bath bombs are color art with glitter and colorant, sometimes botanicals or some other object inside, essential oils and skin softening ingredients. Shower steamers just add an aromatherapy boost....bcz u just stand in a shower and don't immersed yourself in water.
Your wasting your mica. Mix your mica with your Eo and mix together. This will give you a fast color without wasting. Unless. Your mica was low grade level. None the less.... You could have used 1/8 teaspoon instead of half the bottle. Once. You add your liquid it will darken
Thank you for actually showing the product you made in use
You're welcome
I just know it smelled heavenly !
You know it!
Looks like a fun mothers day gift

I don't use Mica anymore because I learned that kids mine it.
@@WisteriatheFirst yes it’s sad
Do yk what you can use as alternative to Color them?
@@haileyhailey6042 you can use food dye I like to use one that come from natural things like beets

Keep your extra mix in a container with a tight fitting lid. You might have to spritz it one more time but it should keep well until used.
@@elainerichards7970 Good to know, thank you!
You make it look easy !
Thanks
Thank you! ❤️
Wonderful job on your video!!! 💕
Thank you so much!
Very easy recipe. Thank you for showing how easy this is to make. 👍🏾😀
Thank you for watching!
I dont have citrus acid , what can i use to replace?
Sorry, for some reason I keep missing the fragrance adding part. Can I add any essential scented oil?
What kind of citrus acid did you use?
if don't have witch hazel what is optional
Can I change the witch hazel for other liquid?
How come mine expanded after sitting for a few hours?
How we preserve long time?
How long it will stick together, i worry if climate dry it will break apart
Can we use rose water instead of witch Hazel?
Can you use as ascorbic acid instead?
When I made it, the mix reacted to the witch hazel and bubbled up out of its molds. How can I prevent that in the future? Do I just add the witch hazel slower?
Did you pour it or spray it?

Thanks for sharing! Great Christmas gift idea! How much essential oil drops did you add , and what is recommended opposed to mica powder?
Awesome thankyou
You’re welcome 😊
amazing thank you
Glad you liked it!
Hi, which brand of Witch Hazel did you use?
T.N. Dickinson’s
How long did it take to set up before you popped them out of the mold?
Overnight
Can I use any kind of baking soda cause I’m not able to find arm & hammer baking soda
You can use any brand
Thank u ☺️
Nice!!!! Do you place these directly under the water or away from the running water???
I place them away from running water. You want water to touch it...but not directly under it.
Can you use it with cold showers?
Yes!

I really like this recipe and your video. Is there a substitute for the Witch Hazel? Idk but I don’t do well with it.
Distilled water ... just spray a little each time and mix
@@yooookki what about alcohol ? The rubbing type?
Is the witch hazel diluted with water?? Thx 😀
Mine is expanding in the molds and it’s super cold to the touch 😅
Cool
Why pick witch hazel???
Wonderful video! Can you share kink for mica powder? Thanks!
I added it to the description.
OK thanks so much!
Wow. That's a lot of Mica. I'm always worried that it will stain my shower and use only the tiniest amounts. But now I see- perhaps I'm overly cautious :)
Your'e correct! If you use too much, it will stain your shower.
I use Polysorbate 80 when using lots of mica.
Too much can stain, just make sure you rinse to remove any residue.
So are these basically just the same as bath bombs but now called shower steamers
No, a bath bomb usually has some kind of oil or butter to condition the skin while you are immersed in water. what the heck is that green color ? fd& c blue number 7?
Why does it need the citric acid?
Citric acid reacts with the baking soda to fizz enough to gradually release the fragrance into the shower air. No fizz, no release of oil into the air, just down the drain. Might try lemon juice?
To foam
D leaf mole is no longer available on Amazon. Does anyone know any substitutions
There is a new leaf mold available- X001Z4HNU1- larger but with a nice pattern on it (amazon).
Saponify melt and pour soap base sampler kit on Amazon contains this pretty mold.
@@Sooz1234 thank you
Followed the directions. Really disappointed. Could hardly smell the scent I added. Anyone else have this issue?

Mine came out Perfect!! I did add a few more drops of both scents -still formed perfectly
Mines did not hold I don’t know if it’s because I did not use witch Hazel 😢… I used rubbing Alcohol..
you can use water 5 teaspoons of water!! they come out perfect
I’ll try again

So shower steamers are bath bombs. OK now I understand. Cuz I am already making bath bombs haha

No menthol ? Is this why it’s called easy? Gonna try it anyway. 😁
