  • An excellent evening spent at the busy station of Luton Airport Parkway on the Midland Mainline where we see plenty of services from East Midlands Trains, Thameslink and plenty of flights from Ryanair, EasyJet, DHL, Wizz and an unknown airline.
    This station was absolutely fantastic to come its so busy here with trains always coming and going along with the various airlines taking off from Luton Airport. You don't get overly amazing views here but you make do with what you get.
    My next station is actually going to be Bletchley on the West Coast Mainline before I go to South Kenton.
    You can now find me on Facebook through the group Tornado922, there you will find regular updates, videos and photos from all of my goings on throughout 2017

    And finally!!! Many thanks for an entertaining video. You got quite excited with the aircraft. Some years back I remember standing right under a Concorde taking off from Manchester Airport and that was the most memorable thing I remember!

      Your more than welcome, I'm glad you found the film entertaining :) I always try and make my films as upbeat as possible. I would've loved to have seen the concord flying in person instead of films on the internet

    i was at LAP a few weeks back on 17th July, It was my first station on my 4 day trip this year, I actually flew into Luton that morning, thoroughly enjoyed watching as I always do, Hope the VP185 HSTs stay for a we while longer, I found that Loughborough and Kettering is where I got my 2 best screams from HSTs, keep up the good work mate, like from me as always, absolutely outstanding film

    Excellent video,mate. Lots of good action and planes taking off from the nearby airport. You mentioning the cancellation of the electrification schemes, When I herd the news I was gutted. Bi-mode trains are now on the way. Iv'e got nothing against bi-mode trains as they use overhead wires and switch to diesel mode when there is no wires. The government are using bi-mode as an excuse for binning these upgrades but the top reason is simply to save money to fund HS2 which costs at least £56 billion! Now with bi-modes coming the main operator I want to have bi-modes is Grand Central. Hull Trains are now ordering new Class 802 bi-modes to replace the Class 180s.

    • @Tornado922
      @Tornado922  7 лет назад

      Thanks very much for saying so its greatly appreciated, it is a shame that they are scrapping the schemes because of HS2 but as you say there isn't anything wrong with Bi-Mode trains the functionality of them is brilliant

    • @simoneames9097
      @simoneames9097 7 лет назад

      You're welcome, mate. Bi mode trains are still better and cheaper than pure diesels. I want Grand Central to order bi-modes(even I have no problem with Class 180s). HS2 will only benefit the wealthy that can afford the high fares. Do you believe HS2 is really that vital? HSUK has got alternative high speed rail plans that are far more sensibly planned, more environmental friendly and more cheaper to build.

    • @simoneames9097
      @simoneames9097 7 лет назад

      Hull Trains have ordered bi-mode Class 802s to replace the diesel Class 180s. Currently Grand Central haven't place any orders for bi-modes but we'll see. If Grand Central does, the Class 180 adlelantes could be cascaded to Cross Country to replace the congested Class 170 turbostars that will do well for cascading. I might be wrong about Grand Central ordering bi-modes but who knows.

    • @simoneames9097
      @simoneames9097 7 лет назад

      Not to worry, mate. The Adelantes are far from retirement. Like I said if Grand Central orders bi-modes the Class 180s could transfer to Cross Country or to East Midland Trains Norwich to Liverpool service to replace the 90 mph Class 158s that are becoming congested.

    • @simoneames9097
      @simoneames9097 7 лет назад

      Hull Trains are getting bi-mode Class 802s in 2019 and their Class 180s are due to move to Grand Central as of now.

    The Thameslink services usually can go from Bedford and Luton towards Sutton via Wimbledon or Mitcham Junction,Three Bridges,Brighton via Gatwick Airport and sometimes Sevenoaks and Orpington.

    Thought you might be interested in Knowing that from Luton Airport, Wizzair mostly serve Eastern europe- Poland, Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria, serbia, Slovakia, Lithuania, Latvia etc, Ryanair serve Ireland (Dublin, Knock, Kerry, Shannon etc) but also smaller placers like Beziers (France), Kaunus (Lithuania) Bydgoszcz (Polamd), Easyjet serve Western Europe, France, Spain, germany, Holland, Portugal, Scotland and of course the wonderful Belfast

    i had a ball in the madness when i went to newcastle with my grandparents cos i was just out shopping for a christmas present and i arrived at the car park and all of a sudden the A1 Peppercorn class Tornado passed by Manors station as it departed from Newcastle on the Tyne-Tees Express
    oh and there was a 66 freighliner going over the bridge as i finished going over the tyne bridge

      Newcastle is always a brilliant station to go to at any time during the day, especially if you get Tornado coming through, its just the sheer volume of traffic that comes past the station along the people that walk amongst the station forecourt

    The electrification is supposed to be extended as far North as Corby. We can only hope that the HST fleet will remain for a good few years to come yet. Chiltern have managed to convert their MK3's to be compatible with modern standards so really fingers crossed the stop gap will be the main stay of these lines.

    Ryanair only operate Boeing 737-800s, Easyjet only operate Airbus A319s and A320s but are getting larger A321 aircraft next year, Wizzair only operate A320s and A321s, DHL was an A300, the white aeroplane was an A320 on loan to Easyjet due to an aircraft shortage

    Also they did put out the new livery of Easyjet and I think Wizz Air can mostly go towards Budapest and Bucharest if I said that correctly and you want to know the departures and the arrivals of the Luton,Gatwick,Heathrow or any kinds of airports around the world then you can find the website for it but it can only work with Internet.

    • @Tornado922

    Luton Airport Parkway is the best Station on the Midland Mainline with the Thameslink 700s, EMT Meridians and HSTs and flights taking to the skies from Luton Airport. I'm surprised East Midlands Trains keeps some Valenta HSTs owing to their screams. Most HSTs are MTUs as part of the life-extension of the HSTs. I'm not concerned about the Media Scaremongering over Brexit. We're a Strong Nation. We don't need the European Union as the World is bigger than Brussels and we can look forward to the forthcoming US-UK Free Trade Deal.

    • @camjkerman

      Wrong, no EMT HST uses Valenta engines, they all have Paxman VP185s, very similar to the valenta, but not the same.

      They actually have a single 737-700 (EI-SEV) it's mainly used as a training aircraft but is occasionally used as a standby aircraft and it's also available as a corporate jet. In the winter it's fitted with 60 business class seats and in the summer it's fitted with 149 standard Ryanair economy seats :-)
