yes it can happen again especially with the refs bias against Boston ; last year last three games against the Panthers no penalties called on the Panthers no matter how blatant including several major penalties; this year last two games against Toronto no penalties called on Leafs in either game and don't expect any in game 7 even though Leafs committed dozens

@@bugsyboy5323 "What have you done for me lately?" syndrome. Toronto isn't supposed to win (both down 3-1 and historically) so they should be playing loose. Potentially losing two first round 3-1 leads in back to back years on the other hand when you are heavily favored... That is anxiety inducing.
As a side note. The Leafs screwing Woll out of a shutout because they didn't play to the buzzer is peak Leafs.
@@bugsyboy5323 Excluding that one cup run, the Bruins have blown a 3-0 series lead, lost in the first round after setting the all-time wins record, and lost 2 Stanley Cup Finals, one of which was a Game 7 on home ice. You don't understand the immense pain and letdown of those collapses. Now I'll admit, we can't say we've had it worse than Toronto because of the one cup run, but excluding that? The Bruins have been through worse.
Well, let’s just agree that these two original 6 storied franchises with over 200 NHL seasons combined have had their struggles along the way.😜😜😜

i do however think boston is more nervous and needs to be. leafs, unless they win their conference, will probably get blown up anyway. shanny gone, all coaches gone, tavares not resigning, reilly probably gone and possibly even marner. right now leafs have nothing to lose.

In Toronto it always goes like this. They never choke right away. No, no they wait. They wait until there is a glimmer of hope. They wait until you are starting to believe. Then, they take it from you. That, is the Maple Leaf way.

Considering the hitting, the TIGHT defensive wins, the great/hot goaltending… I think game 7 definitely leans towards the leafs. Even being at home can be a disadvantage to Boston tn

Nah... leafs fans and even some of this Leaf team are used to the worst by now... Leafs are already in their asylum. Boston though.... not exactly. Their 3-1 choke is recent and will likely be weighing on their minds more.

my co worker and i ask each other if we saw your new video and talk about it while the games are on while we work behind the bar.
im a bartender in south florida and i plug this channel all the time with customers while we have the panthers games on or theyre asking questions about the game and why im yelling or cheering.
i moved to florida when i was a pre teen and couldnt continue to play hockey to have an experience playing at higher than a youth/ peewee level but this channel fills the gaps and makes me a better informed hockey fan and i absolutely love it. keep doing what you're doing dude.

Hey we’ve seen many times where the fresh and rested team performs way worse, because the opponent has been locked into battle mode for so long. Good example: Tampa taking on Columbus

As a Bruins fan I 100% expected this. It's what they do. They're just a little bit less chokey in the playoffs than the Leafs, which isn't saying much. Bruins have blown so many leads, have lost the most game 7s in NHL history. Regardless I also 100% know that no matter who wins this series they're getting swept by Florida and have no real chance at the cup.
As a Caps fan I thought we were pessimistic.😂

Agree completely. Toews was absolutely incredible at chasing pucks down in corners, as was Hossa. Then you add in some of our most important support guys like Bolland, Ladd and Brouwer early on, Kruger, etc. it opened up so many chances to kick it back to Keith or let the skill guys take over. Man I miss those days
@@TheCompletelyAverageGamer Yeah. If you look at the faceoff vs win. We had over 55% in all 3 cup seasons. That's pretty good. Toews singlehandedly carried that team. We really need a how good was Johnathan Toews video.
It hurts seeing them thrive without Samsonov, I was really hoping after his return in January he was a changed man ready to destroy but his play looked farthest from calm and just straight up disastrous. Really proud of Woll stepping up, he deserves the starter and he’s proving it these games. Whether they sign a new goalie in off season or stick with Woll, I know we got some peace of mind. Regardless of winning or losing, Game 7 is a treat. Let’s go leafs!!

I just want to say thank God I finally found a channel like yours. I've been watching the NHL since 1987 when I was 6 yrs old. Yet either because I didn't play peewee or adult league hockey or the announcers non ability to explain the game like they do in the NBA and NFL. So I play every NHL video game since Blades of Steel and yet I understand none of it, I love watching it and playing it on video games but I've never understood what to do with offensive and defensive set ups. Like where should a particular player be in a 1-3-1 or how to use the neutral zone trap, I just figured out a few weeks ago why you dump it in. Anyway your the first channel to explain these things and I've been using your explanations in NHL 24' and even tho I loved this game for so many years you have brought an entirely new love for me to the game. It's so much more fun to understand and execute NHL game plans and watch them be successful cause I know where to be. Again thank you

@@francissteger1636 I don’t think toughness is the biggest issue, they can’t even string two passes together without fumbling the puck. They’ve got no finishing ability, sloppy giveaways behind their own net, and they can barely maintain quality possession for more than a couple seconds.
@@ajmonkeyman24 I mean the Leafs have been very similar. Giving up bad pucks making questionable plays and what not. The Leafs were just more aggressive in games 5 and 6 with the forecheck. I think it looked more like Boston wasn't playing as hard as they could cause if they lost they had another chance. I have a feeling the Leafs may just get smothered in game 7 with both teams fighting to stay alive.

One of the best analyses I've seen yet. As someone who loves both teams (though prefer TML), I couldn't agree with you more. But unless TOR gets past Florida (not just BOS), a lot of heads are going to roll starting right at the top. No matter who wins this series, that team - TOR or BOS - will definitely be the underdog for all upcoming competitions. And I for one love it when the underdog crushes their competition.

It definitely helps that the Leafs have 6 power plays in the last 2 games and the Bs only got 2. I think the biggest difference between winning and losing is that the Leafs started blocking more shots, and the B’s are having trouble adjusting. Their dumps down aren’t very clean, and they haven’t been finishing their chances like they were earlier. Maybe nerves, but we’ll see

These two teams are playing their 4th playoff series since 2013. There are some interesting patterns.
1) The Bruins are 4-0 in game 4
2) The Leafs are 4-0 in game 5
3) And the winner of game 7 is ....

As a fan of a western conference team, I get endless giggles from watching toronto try to figure out what to do in the playoffs and fail. Im rooting for them in game 7 because there is no other team that id like to face in the finals.

As a Bruins fan I had a gut feeling at 3-1 that this wasn't going to end well for them.
As someone born and raised in boston…. I can’t speak for all Bostonians… but personally I’ve accepted the fact the series was over when it was 3-2

Swayman's been the only guy that's exceeded expectations for the Bruins. Everyone else is either invisible or choking and it's not the same faces either - Marchand and Pasta have underperformed, yes, but guys like Zacha have missed point blank shots multiple times. The lack of PPs has impacted them disproportionately. Boston's looking for a Bergeron or Chara kind of player to rely on.
