- In this workshop we explore landscape drawing on the run- how to draw and paint a landscape in five minutes or less, while standing up, in wet weather. Learn how to see basic shapes, simplify values, and discard unecessary detail. I will demonstrate several techniques including water soluable pen, aquash pencil, limited palette watercolor, Tombo pen, and graphite pencil.

Thank you so much! You have no idea how helpful your videos are. They are encouraging, educational and doable.
Why, oh why, didn't I have an art tutor like you at school???? :) Volumes of knowledge simply explained and wonderfully expressed! :)
hahahahh the outdoor pic came on real fast!!! now this guy makes learning fun!!!
Hallelujah! Just what I needed! Thank you!
This is another great video. Am re-inspired. For me, just the video I needed. I add my thanks to those of others
wow!!!! this guy is amazing!!!
On a side note if you go overboard and do not preserve your whites, there is a nice product that sharpie makes that is a white, water based paint marker... and another nice effect is using black dry erase markers they bleed very nicely to create shadowy area's. I recently found a review of your book on nature journalism and looked you up. I am became a very quick fan. Thanks for doing what you do! I look forward to catching up on some of your other videos that are inspiring.
I bought two books of Mr. Laws from Amazon, and while waiting for them to arrive I'm watching these amazing videos
I liked the joke about how our brain can't even handle "50 shades of grey". Good one sir!
Thanks Jack, couldn't make it in person, it is great to be able to watch at home!
Keep up the great work John!
Around 9:37 John looks like a super hero ! John the super drawing teacher or something (I'm sure there are better names you can come up to). Thanks for all the resources you give us anyway ;) I think I've made some progress in few hours of time watching your videos.
Thank you. I'm on my way to the park to start my homework. Wonderful tutorial, as usual.

Inspiring! Great presentation. Thank you!
Great teacher !
Thank you your such a great teacher.
I love your workshops. It is so informative and practical. I have a question. Is a sketch done with water soluble pen with wash permanent? I mean, doesn't it fade later? I just wonder how durable the sketch is. Thank you so much!
Love him
Happy New year...
i love you
I'm only fifteen minutes into this video...inspiring as usual. So inspiring in fact that I'm starting a challenge in order to create accountability for myself. Check out @5mindailydrawingchallenge on Instagram and join me using hashtag #5mindailydrawingchallenge
I'm *not selling anything*
I just want to share this journeying creating the habit of "just draw it" with others and hopefully we can all encourage and inspire others catch the drawing habit too!
