About Lucifer:
Lucifer is an American urban fantasy television series developed by Tom Kapinos that premiered on Fox on January 25, 2016. It is based on the DC Comics character created by Neil Gaiman, Sam Kieth, and Mike Dringenberg taken from the comic book series The Sandman, who later became the protagonist of a spin-off comic book series, both published by DC Comics' Vertigo imprint. The series is produced by Jerry Bruckheimer Television, DC Entertainment and Warner Bros. Television. The series revolves around Lucifer Morningstar (Tom Ellis), the Devil, who abandons Hell for Los Angeles where he runs his own nightclub and becomes a consultant to the LAPD.
The ensemble and supporting cast include Lauren German as Detective Chloe Decker, Kevin Alejandro as Detective Daniel "Dan" Espinoza, D. B. Woodside as Amenadiel, Lesley-Ann Brandt as Mazikeen, and Rachael Harris as Dr. Linda Martin. Filming took place primarily in Vancouver, British Columbia before production was relocated entirely to Los Angeles, California beginning with the third season. The first season received mixed reviews from critics, though subsequent seasons were better rated. The fourth season also received high ratings and critical acclaim. Many critics particularly praised Ellis' performance. Despite initially high viewership for its debut, ratings remained consistently low throughout the series' run on Fox. On May 11, 2018, Fox cancelled Lucifer after three seasons. A month later, Netflix picked up the series for a fourth season of ten episodes, which was released on May 8, 2019.
On June 6, 2019, Netflix renewed the series for the fifth and final season which will be 16 episodes. However, in March 2020, Tom Ellis and other stars of the show were reported to have signed up for a sixth season to be produced by Netflix and Warner Bros.[4] Official confirmation is yet to be received. It was later reported that production has stopped near to the end of Season 5 due to the 2020 COVID-19 pandemic and studio closures. I have my suspicions that Lauren prefers the ladies, and I know this shouldn’t have a bearing on her acting ability, but I feel it’s why I can’t feel or see any real chemistry between her and Tom. I love Lauren but I admit I think she’s the reason I don’t ship Deckerstar.

Tom Ellis is the opposite of the comic book character Lucifer. So being perfect for the role as Lucifer is just not accurate. The tv version is just something else and be viewed as such.
Ian is my idol and have been it since TVD but I agree. He doesn't have the accent and just doesn't fit the role as much as Tom. But if Tom had got the kick and Ian learned an accent I would put Ian as a second

@@jeffescanto Ian Somerholder is too small to play Lucifer, he needs to be imposing and intimidating IS wouldn't be, nor does he have the range that TE has, not sure Lucifer would sound right with an American accent either as the risque sarcastic comedy doesn't work all that well with an American accent but he has the looks .

If Tom Ellis would had left the show for season 6, it would have been a huge mistake. LUCIFER = TOM ELLIS. He owns the character. I feel no one can replace him at this stage of the series. 😍🙏 He's our top🎩.
Agreed. I love all of the actors because they are great in their parts, but they don't have a show without Tom Ellis. His portrayal of Lucifer makes the show work, and at this point, they couldn't have continued with another actor in the role.
Lucifer as written by Neil Gaiman was meant to look like David Bowie, with blond hair and blue eyes.

Lauren was too skinny and tiny for a cop and did often not act good enough. With Ellis it was not a good match. The fans are loving more the love story but Lauren, to be fair.

I like Lauren Gherman a lot more. Expensive and well known actors aren't always a better choice. Lauren is hot, beautifull, talented and very underrated. I first saw her in "A walk to remember" she had a secondary role there, but she instantly got my attention in the first second.

Lucifer wouldn't of made it past S1 without Tom Ellis, he embodies Lucifer in such a natural way, the wit, the sarcasm and humour, but can also change to outright rage, anger and fury but also be a complete softy, romantic, sexy, but also scary, creepy and intimidating right back to singing like an angel
The show is so perfectly cast, it wouldn't be the same with anyone else but the people they choose, the casting department deserves some major credit

Kevin A was a much better choice for Dan, IMO. and if TE would have been replaced in S6, I wouldn’t have watched it. That would have ruined the show completely. TE as Lucifer is beyond perfection; there could be no substitute.

It's a relief that Lauren German was casted in Lucifer. Even though she is not that expensive like what you've said but as I've been watching the Lucifer, I could say that Lauren is more pretty and her acting skills are great too. I'm now a fan of her!

@@Littlethings12345 Actually it's not. The MCU all connects and changing the actors is a big deal. But when you love the replacement more, it's a sign of the actor's ability to make the role his own. It has nothing to do with who was there first.
I personally would've hated it because the fans would be constantly comparing him to Damon. I'm glad they hired an actor who wasn't widely known in the US to take on the role. It made it fresh and new. They knew what they were doing

I can't picture Ian as Lucifer Morningstar. He doesn't have the ability to act like a hilarious manchild diva with daddy issues. Keep in mind that Tom improvised most of the lines that made Lucifer great. Can you really picture Ian complaining about God in almost every episode and make it funny? Plus if Tom weren't in it the penetration line would've never existed.

Tom is perfect for the role Lucifer, he literally nails it being a very hot devil in suits. As much as Ian is perfect for the role big bad vampire Damon Salvatore. Both actors own their respectively irreplaceable roles in my most favorite 2 shows 👍🏻👍🏻

There isnt anyone on this planet that could replace Tom Ellis as Lucifer. Tom nailed that part 150%. Tom plays The part of Lucifer so amazingly wonderful. Mum has the colouring and features of my grandpa's sister. Her sister got the dark hair and eyes, like her parents.
I really think the Hispanic actress that's the nerd should have played Chloe. Seems like she and Tom have way better chemistry.

Tom portrayed lucifer so well. And, man, dont even get me started with his humor. I grew so attached with all the characters any change would be disturbing, and yes, season 6 is airing on September 10 on Netflix this year. Tom Ellis is playing lucifer so, can't wait to watch it, also not ready to say goodbye its the last season :(

Lauren is extremely pretty. Like mesmerizingly beautiful. Shes also a great actress. I would see either Ian or the alpha wolf from the series with the guy who becomes a wolf , as a great lucifer cast but tom does it also justicee!

Lucifer series cast is the best cast I have ever seen
This cast fit perfectly. While filming in Canada they became a family and it shows in their work.
I want to watch the next thing each of them is in. Keep me posted.
Just like I can't think of anyone playing Iron Man other than RDJ, Tom Ellis was born to play Lucifer
I could not imagine anyone else playing this role than Tom Ellis. He is so talented and fantastic.

In the first season I always used to think Joseph Morgan (aka Klaus Mikaelson) would be pretty good in Lucifer's character but as the seasons went by I am pretty sure Tom did justice to the character

No way all of them are perfect for the role. I can't imagine other actors and actresses playing their roles. Plus all of them are good friends and they have great chemistry.
They basically picked everyone on a lower budget I’d think and worked out wonderfully for them! It’s good to give actors a chance just because they aren’t high level famous. But now they are.
I'll be nearly depressed when Lucifer ends, but I'd rather it end with Tom then have Ian step in. So if Tom can't go past Season 6, let the show end gracefully. I'll be following Tom Ellis in whatever he does after this. Between the musical and singing talent and his voice and character acting, Lucifer really showed the world what he has to offer!

I m glad for Lauren playing as Detective instead of Margo! No one could have done the role better than Lauren
i kept watching because tom nailed his role. it was always fun to watch, all 6 seasons and i wouldnt mind if another 6 followed
but i am dissapointed that all the actors i adored in luzifer where not more famous . i looked up some of them and ...who in their right mind overlooked them what happened here? why arent they more famous? and what do they mean with margo is " on of the best and most beautiful in hollywood" they apparently need a bigger radius to look for people if they missed the lady who played Chloe Decker
Lucifer is one of those shows that has a perfect cast. None of them should change because no other actors or actresses would be able to play the part they way they do. They own those parts. So I’m happy the directors chose them❤️. But anyone has watched v wars? Is it good or bad?
Lesley Anne Brandt is brilliant as Maze, I don't think anyone else could play that part as well as her, in fact all the casting for Lucifer leading cast are brilliant. I don't think the show would have been as good if it had other actors.

I don't want to be rude but I don't think Ian Somerhalden would ever rise to Tom Ellis 's Lucifer perfection and Thank Dad they managed to come to an agreement for S6, although I don't blame Tom. And the whole cast is just perfect in their roles, they all work perfectly together!

Exactly, Tom adds that touch of majestic needed to his character. Lucifer is a fallen angel and the king of the underworld afterall.. ✨
