how does this cost 180 million dollars when three of the eight episodes are flashbacks of the same scene from different camera angles
Inflated paychecks
Money laundering.
Gotta pay the woke

That was the saddest and most defeated "hey guys, what's happening" ever 😂😭
Hahahahaha I thought to myself "oh he sounded real sad saying that intro" to look down and immediately see this comment!
Yeah I noticed that to.
You know it's trash when FCE says it is, a channel know for it's positive take on things
You watched it then?

We’re watching the summary’s, reviews, scene compilations…

@@minimumwage2169you think the show is good 😂
@@minimumwage2169 quit that. You don’t always have to watch some thing to know it’s trash.
I’m shocked at how frequently Hollywood shows how out of touch and incompetent they are when it comes to films and tv in established universes. You’d think after the folly of season 7 from GoT or the poor reception of Star Wars epi 7-9 they’d at least TRY! But alas….
It has to be on purpose
It is@@charlesbronson3537
Why try when Blackrock will cover all their losses as long as they spread the message and take down popular franchises.
The big reveal is that, in this updated, modern Star Wars universe, good and evil are interchangeable. Jedi and Sith are interchangeable. There is no line dividing opposite things, only a spectrum. Shocker.
Omg, they "both sides"-ed Star Wars!
It was the horrid working conditions on set that had her switch to liking OSHA
Dude that pun was like an accident waiting to happen. Can't believe i didn't think of that! (no sarcasm)
Lol, you should be in charge of audio for the acolyte. Your music makes the show 100 times better. 😆 🤣
Where the fuck did yords padawan go

They should rename this series to
The Gaslightzer
Why? What's being gaslighted exactly?
The hormy bonk bit was brilliant
My question is where is Yoda? He is alive in this time period. Why wouldn't you use him even if it was just one episode?
The green female leader keeps saying she won't tell the Jedi council, so he is out of the loop because of bad writing.
@@makcity7850 he’s actually in the end of the last episode
I love that Niyat is using pop culture clips more!
Honestly cutting the Twins from the Show would’ve been waaaayyy better, having the focus be Sol and his padawan Jeckie trying to solve/catch a notorious Jedi Killer Qimir would’ve been AWESOME wtf Disney 🤦
Yea I think she’s the biggest problem. OSHA is alright but Mae is everywhere, I don’t get it. Unless they’re truly trying to show she has a mental problem…
But without the twins, we wouldn't get Darth Skinny Dipping.
To be honest every episode is a mess, this series had so much potential, honestly, the fact that a star wars series is going to show us what came before is fascinating, but the folks at disney don’t know how to make quality entertainment and just focus on the money that for a FACT they are not generating. Love your videos man!
I wonder how diff these series would be if they were made in the early 2000’s
I know the actors in this show can do so much better. When I found out that the silent Monk Jian Yu was actually amateur DJ/dance crew member Jason Mendoza from Jacksonville, FL, it blew my mind!
30:33 "...Internet Thirst Trap... " 😂
i'll say thank you ahead of time for Nyat having to watch this mess so we don't have to. you a real one.
When you seek acceptance yet only create an atmosphere of awkwardness.
Your production is so good, man. BGM, memes, editing and script all super tight.
you know that shit has hit the fan when Niyat has a sad tone.
Fr dude I think this is the first and only video I’ve ever seen him talk shit about a show and I’ve been following him for a while now.
We need a Star wars that wants to entertain not push personal tropes
I know it's ambitious, but a video on the world of One Piece and the themes of its story would be amazing.
This series episodes are less connected than the majority of season 3 of the Mandalorian
Bruh ep 7 being a flashback episode was absolutely demonic style of pacing. Could’ve put the ep maybe 2/3rd of the season and it would’ve been just fine and we wouldn’t be wasting time learning that Sol murders smoke… and Corbin or orbit just wanted to go home… like this whole season is happening because a brat wanted to go home. 👁👄👁
Having hired Leslie was a mistake alongside most of the actors, it feels so stiff and awkward, and the way they act it feels robotic, they don’t feel like people they feel awkward; also that it was made with 180 million dollars and only 30 minutes per episode really shows how backwards it was cause an hour long episodes for a series with that budget is what most want but they squandered this golden opportunity
It was a waste of money and probably would have been better if it had all been CGI
@@thearmchairjournalist566
I don’t think even cgi can save a dumpster fire like this; I would’ve rather seen another season of andor or the mandalorian
Excluding Amandla, most of the actors in the Acolyte are actually good actors. It is probably more because of bad writing and bad direction.
@@louiesantos5027 some of the actors are good, others seem to be DEI or virtue but not Sol’s actor he’s leagues above All of them seen a lot of his work and it’s amazing
The more I see from this show, the more it seems like those Witches are the origin of the Sith and much of the evil in the universe.
Such an excellent breakdown. My issues aren't with whatever buzzword DEI reference people want to throw out, no, my issues are with this storytelling, and you go through most if not all of the issues I have with this show. Cheers.
The acolyte: when people who don’t like Star Wars become writers/show runners for Star Wars. FFS it’s like Kathleen Kennedy’s prerequisites for people she hired since she took over were “have you ever EVER seen anything Star Wars related?” & If their answer was anything except “what’s Star Wars?” She threw their resume right in the trash
My main problem with this show is like.. what is it even about? I feel like the writers kinda just threw up “what if this happened??? Yeah! And then what if she did this?? Yeah! And what if her sister is actually alive?? Yeah!”
I feel as there is no real central message that the writers are trying to convey. I kinda get that it’s about “the choices we make” and “living with regret” or something but it isn’t very concise or clear to me.
I think I'd describe the show as a mix between the Hindenburg and the Titanic
Damn George, just a a handful of sentences and he let everyone have it
Lesley Headland hired everyone and anyone who was ignorant of SW and it shows so much.
This whole show is to tear down Lucas' idea of the Jedi and to intro the Disney idea, probably with the upcoming Rey Movie.
At least they know that it was Anakin that blew up the Death Star🤪
"The pervasive impassiveness that has come to define contemporary Star Wars is ever present."
This sentence was so concise, sophisticated, and truthful. And it describes modern Star Wars PERFECTLY. Well done, Nyat.
Amazing review like always FCX, but the jam you put in got me dancing for the full bit
The only point here that’s aged like milk is Sol not being able to differentiate between the twins through their force signature - it’s directly addressed in E07
Massive acolyte W how will the critics ever recover
Well, is that really explained? Back in the Clone Wars, Yoda said that all the clones felt unique in the Force. Add in the fact that Osha and Mae have lived very different lives, I'd expect them to each feel different in the Force too.
@@sword_of_dusk I think they’re trying to explain that they aren’t actually two individuals, but each a split half of a whole - so even though they have had different personal experiences, they’re technically the same soul.
Not saying I’ll die on the hill that it’s a good writing decision or anything or even makes sense in the universe, but as a writing mechanic it perfectly explains why Sol couldn’t tell the difference - because at the midichlorian level the twins are identical as they’re the same person.
Clones are different as they’re effectively born as individuals, but the twins were birthed from the force like Anakin so there’s narrative space to fit in some Force weirdness like being identical when detected through the force
22:54...Was that Woody Harrelson? "I just want you to stop saying odd shit..." Don't know what that clip was from, but it had me cracking up for almost ten minutes straight. It was so perfectly timed 🤣
Just a quick point concerning the fight scenes in episode 5. Shadiversity did an autopsy of said fights. It was shit. Like holy hell this i awfully made garbage
This is what happens when Harvey Weinstein's former personal assistant makes a Star Wars series. It reflects a kind of confusing cognitive dissonance that she must feel, knowing what she probably knows and continuing to work in the industry where so many were wronged by the actions of her former boss.
Loving the vids recently!! I would love to see you cover the Truman show man, one of my favorite movies to this day
I would really like to have seen Jar Jar Binks turn into a kickass Sith who compl…
Oh sorry, wrong Star Wars!! ☹️
Aha hahaha HAHAHAHhahahHahHahHaHhA holy shit dude that was so fuckin funny 😐
Our beloved FCE is SO done with this bullshit lol
I would never laugh AT him, but that intro broke my heart a little bit. You can definitely hear it in his voice. Nowhere near the level of energy and enthusiasm we've seen in other videos. The "series", if you can call it that, is a major drain on our man here, and I'll be happy when this show dies, whenever that may be.
The fans of this show are rabid. any critique of it and people assume you hate it cause of politics. People will accept literal trash these days if it's their favorite IP.
I so you’re new to online fandoms.
So true. You're not allowed to use any logic or critical thinking
The same can also be said of the ardent "anti-SJW" toxicfans out there. When you come after people for their race, looks and/or gender in a role, it means you have nothing constructive to add and should probably shut the fuck up (not you of course, "them").
I'm neither btw. I just watch the shows for what they are. Some good, many more really bad.
@@Emanon... nice whataboutism lmao and what you described really isn't as rampant of a issue as the literal agenda keepers spewing their bullshit and crying when literally nobody accepts it
Ya know, even if Princess Leia's sexualization in Jedi was bad, it was framed as being the evil will of the evil depraved gangster.
The sexualization of mr. Smileyface here is just the screenwriters wanting to sexualize him to make the audience swoon.
Win for the older movies XD
Maybe Stenberg can make another cringe music video in defense of the rest of the season.
the spoon feeding the baby edit is kino 💀
You're a better Man than I am for having to watch this mindless dribble...I know it's the "job" but still! 🤣
We really need a council of Nicaea esque meeting to establish canon so these writers don’t keep changing everything from movie to movie, tv show to tv show, and sometimes even episode to episode.
I wish Lee Jung-jae, who plays Sol, was treated better and in a better show. He deserves way more than acting on a show as bad as The Acolyte.
Excellent analysis and review 🖖🏽
So is Disney's plan to make the new Star Wars content better, release even worse content to make it look better by comparison? 🤔
Early upload - beauty 👌
39:01 adding these random movie clips, enhances the video no doubt
it so bad it turn one of best movie review channel into making a DUNK SHOW (a comedy dunk show I laugh more than 2 time)
That last part with Lucas....nice n true as well
Spot On, 100%.

It should honestly be illegal for a streaming show to be less than 30 minutes. They could’ve split half of the episode into another
At what point is striking down your opponent Not a path to the dark side? Are you telling me it would be Righteous for Obi wan to Not cut down A Dolph if given the opportunity? I would think not doing so and allowing even further atrocities is a far more vile act. Sorry I know that's quite a question I'm just genuinely curious where the course, rough, irritating and gets everywhere line in the sand is.
Part of the issue is as Disney has focused so much on Jedi and making them so common, they've become the norm. Also it appears the force is easier to gain a hold of (and I'm not referring to this series as the lone example).
Since they are the "norm" they become more or less even in all aspects with other people, creatures, etc.
I think that is why they lack awareness so often, they make dumb mistakes, etc.
Rather than a literal superhuman individual walking up where few, if any, outside of their magic wielding can resist them, basically anyone can, a person with some daggers, for example.
In Attack of the Clones Anakin could sense from another room and pinpoint slash little snakes crawling on a person without injuring them. While, Yes that was Anakin, I didn't get that was some incredible act by Jedi standards.
I don't see even Jedi Masters doing something of that degree. In Episode 4, a single very large bug appears and all Jedi appear concerned except the Jedi Master, while he took it down easily, it made it seem like that was something special when in prior movies such an act would be simple.
I also don't like the take on Jedi not harming things. It doesn't make sense. Obi-wan took a dude's arm off at the bar, Luke took out plenty on the barge. etc. Jedi don't randomly attack people, they look for a peaceful solution but in Ep 5 SmiloRen is like "I'm unarmed now, you don't attack unarmed people" like, bro you just ended 6 Jedi (plus the Wookie that Sol doesn't know about) but Sol is like "you're right" WHAT?
Side note that I just realized while writing.
No one checked on Kelnaka. While we the audience know he's dead, NO ONE alive (other than Mae pretending to be Osha) knows he actually dead. So after the battle, Sol just up and leaves, no one mentions Kelnaka, asking where he is, we need to check on him, anything. Its like as soon as we the audience learn he's dead the entire universe of Star Wars becomes aware.
Given no Jedi appears to "sense" death in the series, not has it not been mentioned, but there are times where a character is surprised at someone not being dead, so clearly the sense was forgotten. Which isn't a gripe as the long famous force speed was forgotten as well. I'm just pointing out that the "sense" can't be used as an excuse.
Also, Venestra will be Qumir's master who "tossed him aside" or w/e he said.
It sucks that a lot of these “bad” shows/ movies get a bad rap. They really aren’t that bad, did I see some of the plot twists coming? yes, did I enjoy the entire show? Also yes. I think we should relax these absurdly high expectations and just enjoy the story imo ymmv
My god I feel bad for Star Wars fans
being a fan is never a good idea in the first place, it is literally the definition is insane person.
This is every Edgy Fan Fiction of a specific franchise backed up with a bloated budget.
Ive been re-watching the expanse i remember what amazing sci fi tv is
37:00 Doku aged quickly using the darkside...
This show makes Andor so much better. I liked Andor from the start, even when others didn’t. Then again I don’t really understand Star Wars.
Lucas sold his vision for several billion. He can make his own stuff.
There is only star wars here. . . You will let us throu- oh, I mean you will love it!!
The show has felt like a roller coaster. Some aspect are sped through and feel rushed while others are stretched and prolonged in an annoying fashion.
crazy thing is these are the acolytes strongest episodes
This one feels personal to Niyat
Peak Monty Python slapstick-comedy, what could possibly go wrong!?
Dismal Disney: 🤡 (Crazy Joker Laugh)
Honestly, I did like the idea, they're ALL entities manifest to one being. Where I THOUGHT Mae twist was gonna be THE TWIST where Osha ONLY hallucinated or thought it was her sister try to kill her.
Yeah that's still just dogshit writing lmao
Turbonerds rejoice! More to hate on!
Disney could have thrown their billions behind Star Wars to make cinematic masterpiece after cinematic masterpiece in a way that George could have only imagined. Instead, they threw their money behind cash grabs and mediocre writers. Seriously, this is near the same drop-off I felt with the last couple seasons of Game of Thrones. Hollywood really can't get out of its own way to make anything good. The C-level staff seem to want only safe bets, rather than good stories. The new films showed me that there would be NO shortage of trash with the "Star Wars" name attached.
I've never seen this show, but from everything I hear/see, it seems I'm good to avoid it.
Man, i can't wait for Andor 2 so the bad taste in my mouth can be washed away.
How does a casting director not know the difference between fraternal and identical twins?
If Chat GPT made TV.
Reckon it'd be better then
This trend will, unfortunately continue until it's replaced. Those who live thru this period have the power to affect what will replace it.
Over time I’ve come to view Star Wars as live action comic books. This view helped me reconcile certain EU stories that seemed childish. I would think “Well that one was for kids,” and they usually were. Disney’s Star Wars has really pushed even that rationalization to the limit. I’ve been a Star Wars fan since I was six, when I saw a rerun of the OT on television. I’ve stuck it out for a long time. Episode 5 of this literary piece of garbage was the first time (since Rian Johnson made Luke Skywalker die from trying) that I’ve screamed from frustration at such a ridiculous story line. This series was like the first draft of a high school freshman’s first ever story. FIRST draft. Star Wars has gone corporate and it’s time I accept that. 😢
So weird....I swear I subbed to you when I saw the dune series but just had to sub again...
Witches in a coven?!? Do they really have to inject the occult into EVERYTHING?! The one more of the many things Star Wars did NOT need. Glad I skipped this one...
On one end I'm cool with the whole light/ dark are simply points of view and that the Jedi are a cult the same as the sith
I thought there was only red, green, blue, and one purple lightsabers, purple belonging to Samuel l Jackson (who by the way is still alive. He wasn't beheaded he didn't fade leaving robes behind or had a force ghost appear... He was pushed out a window so he's clearly still alive.) Why am I seeing orangeish yellow sabers?
But 'The View' said this was a successful show and the fans are just bigoted and racist and Amandla was a victim, how can this be...
First problem:
Going to the view for objectivity.
1) who cares about The View? 2) seriously why pay attention to what they say. They are paid to say that sh*t
@@angelantayhua3096 3: they actively cause brain rot and mental retardation

There is NO way that is a real video of Lucas at the end of this.

I mean even the most hardcore star wars fan has to be able to admit this show is very poorly made if nothing else.
Last show I watched from start to finish wars was Andor and only after the reviews from trusted sources came in. I have no idea who watches anything now before trusted opinions.

@@SlimeBlueMS so funny I forgot to laugh..
How people can complement this show for its fight scenes are beyond me... yes, it's better than episode 7-9 baseball fighting, but none even tries to hit each other and loves to darken the scenes to make you focus on the sabers to trick the scene.
In a sea of righteous fury and over the top playing to the crowd, your calm dismantling of what is basically a bad show with a big budget seems even more devastating.
