    I just love watching them work, they're masters! I have one question: why are the teeth always painted black, both on masks and on dolls?

    • @Craftsmanship-Process
      @Craftsmanship-Process  Год назад +2

      The reason for darkening the teeth is believed to have been to make the teeth less noticeable and to make the face look softer. In addition to being able to hide the alignment and discoloration of teeth, some believe that the dye had a preventive effect on oral malodor, tooth decay, and periodontal disease.

    A highly skilled craftsman.
    I noticed the blue fingernails on the gentleman creating the kumiko. The cause can be something as simple as polish, or cold weather. Other causes could include a lack of oxygen from lung or heart conditions.
    Or, it could be the camera.
    The world lacks people of your talent and skill. I hope your blue nails mean nothing.

    どの職人も木工用ボンドを使う?

    • @Craftsmanship-Process
      @Craftsmanship-Process  Год назад +1

      現代の職人は木工用ボンドをよく用います。
      ボンドがない時代には、接着剤として、漆や膠(動物の骨や皮を煮詰めて作ったもの)を用いたりもしていました。
      また、木を凸凹に工作し接着剤を用いることもあります。
