I heard this played live by a local jazz band (was either a community college or really good high school, I forget) and that was literally my introduction to Radiohead.
I don't think any of the commentators below me understand that this isn't an original by any of the University of Miami's composers. All of the comments about discrepancies in the composition are entirely out of place.
Amazing. All anyone could hope for. The only things I feel could be added is a screamin' trumpet solo at 2:41, but im just being too picky. Amazing job guys.
this is unbelievable!!! soo amazing... cant believe you guys dont have like 1 million views already... not that views matter that much, but you guys deserve sooo much more credit for this amazing piece of art!! congratulations! :)
Still good... base and drums supported it well (hope they're still playing)... I was waiting for a sax to go wild (a little improv energy release)... came here researching Radiohead songs to cover... didn't notice the guitarist until the solo - potential there...
Challenge accepted. Great players in this band. I see the mics are up so did you record this?? Would love to get my hands on a copy so I can play it through the car stereo.
That section starting at about,...2:40, maybe a little bit before,...I think it could use a little bit more interesting harmony. It sounds to me like almost everything is in unison in that part and,...it gets kinda boring that way. I think that with some of these modern pop and rock songs, to arrange them for jazz ensemble, especially a big band,...you have to tweak the chords a little bit sometimes, especially if the whole band is playing a line together.
the piano solo was a at a bad time. the horns should have brought in the mournful funereal dirge section and the pianist could've started to extemporise over that - Louis Armstrong would have got how to make that work instantly. otherwise nice work :)
I would say it's just criticism. It also urks me to see people nobody has ever heard of act like they know the music well enough to critcise an award winning, prestigious college band. So yes, buddy, it may have not been assault, but it was unwarranted :)
This has a 1970's Cop Chase Movie Thriller feel.... I freaking love it! Well done!
Amazing interpretation. The piano solo on the bridge made me cry.
Same! And that's all there was here...
Not sure why the other 19 people were there...
That piano solo was absolutely insane. Well played !!
Y'all that drummer is bad ass, but everyone is exceptionally great
Beat me to it. Give the drummer some!

Awesome job guys! Whoever runs this channel please give arranger Ken Schaphorst recognition!

It was transformed into a jazz piece splendidly, and if that was done by the university composers, I think it's absolutely something worth praising
I love the expressions on that guitarist! Awesome close!
Amazing! This song is great in Jazz.
That's the one...just when I thought nothing could rival Brad Mehldau's version...awesome stuff guys.
This is REALLY cool.
Emmet Cohen (piano), wonder what happened to him?!! Love it.
Arte en su mas puro estado, felicitaciones

Holy fuck piano break
Amazing!!👏
Really nice arrangement. Keepin it weird!
Fuck, this is beyond cool.
this is bad ass
Absolutely brilliant!
Great job everyone involved. I'd love to hear Radiohead do a Bond theme
They did, search "Spectre" by Radiohead. It was rejected for being too "dark" so Sam Smith was used instead but it's still a great song.
Dragode Mallett which is obviously a ton of bollocks, it’s not too dark, Sam Smith was just more popular at the time
Yeah sam smith is ass
It would be cool if I could buy this
AIDAN KIRK the music is purchasable if you’re looking to play the piece, response is a bit late however and I’m sorry about that
Pretty cool.
tres belle reprise. tres chic
Pure awesomeness
Amazing
Masterly! Tss

So amazing. No wonder why other people asks for the realease cd!
I want some mp3, some something! Do you have more Radiohead covers?
Congratulations!

did you miss the "improv energy release" when the piano player improvised a beautiful solo?
This is an incredible arrangement and performance period.
What is it with the way the pianists has his music? lol how can he read it like that XD
OOOOOHHHHHH MMMMMMMMYYYYYYYYYYYY GGGGGOOOOOOOODDDDDDDD!!!!!!!!!!!
Playing this in jazz band right now, ours dosent even compare o_O
Is there a CD coming out?!

Piano.... All i can say

Nathan Relles oh yeah why don’t you make it
have you composed or arranged a single chart in your life?
learn the correlation of unisons and intensity and maybe it will make more sense to you :)
So,objectively, this is a good song?
The cables lying around triggers my Tech OCD

I agree with what you say but it's still a masterful arrangement !
the pianist did exactly that what are you talking about
Explain what you mean if you are an "expert" in improvisation and evoking emotions through it
@@wjhaugheyBuddy, he had constructive criticism, not assault there.

I'm not quite fond of this version.
Guitar player and piano have no soul
um what. r we watching the same
who are you
sheesh sounds like somebody is jealous
kolaui kola is just mad because he/she can't improvise
Piano solo was awful and awfully placed.
DiamondLifer man you must be something else.
Diamond Lifer just because someone can solo better than you doesn't mean you have to be a jerk about it :)
@@wjhaughey not being a jerk just expressing an opinion. If I wanted to be a jerk I would have said he needs to work on his timing. On both hands.
I suggest you keep your opinions to yourself as they are not helpful or something anyone really cares about. Just enjoy the performance they shared.
@@wjhaughey I suggest you don’t worry about someone not agreeing with you or not liking someones interpretation of someone else’s art.
