  • The UK is the fifth richest country in the world, yet a staggering 30 percent of children are living in poverty, according to official figures.
Britons are set to go to the polls on Thursday, with the opposition Labour predicted to win a landslide victory after 14 years of Conservative rule.
But many are sceptical that Labour will be able to tackle the UK's systematic inequality crisis.

    (1) Raise the personal income tax allowance and link it to inflation
    (2) Raise income tax thresholds and also link them to inflation
    (3) Tax capital gains the same as Income
    (4) Remove the pension triple lock, but instead link pensions to inflation

Poverty in the UK is when your family earn less than 3000 pounds But government makes sure that every family has these 3000 pounds. Well the rent can be like from 1400 to 1800 pounds... No country in the world can pay enough money to rent an apartment for free, only UK does that. Let's be honest they are not poor, they were forced into laziness. It is easier to stay at home and get nearly the same amount of money from the state. These transfers push the inflation, and of course it cannot last forever... One day or another people would face the consequences

30% of all children in the UK, "were living in relative low-income households"
    Is the exact report headline.
This number is skewed by single parent families... becoming normalised.
Remember, the UK has a very large population of disenfranchised individuals.
The delicate fabric of your society is being eroded away.
Tradition, religion and nationalism don't exist anymore... as forms of societal glue.
Today in the UK one in five people are disabled.
One in five adolescents have severe mental health issues.
The list of issues with 'those forgotten'... is becoming endless.
You're living in a meaningless society, where the educated ( societies most important group )
are obsessed with individual wealth accumulation. For those where this is not a possibility.
    Their society is simply meaningless.

Former British Prime Minister Boris Johnson , show their true face.
"If Ukraine loses in the NATO proxy war with Russia, it will be the end of Western hegemony”
--> They don't care about Youkrain people.
And Boris still pushing the war to continue..
The vast majority of the world has not joined the West in its new cold war on Russia.
Two former US diplomats published an article in Newsweek in 2022 lamenting that, “While the United States and its closest allies in Europe and Asia have imposed tough economic sanctions on Moscow, 87 percent of the world’s population has declined to follow us”.
It is only the Global North, or the collective West, that has imposed sanctions on Russia: North America, Europe, Australia, New Zealand, and the US allies in Japan, South Korea, and China’s Taiwan province (which is governed by pro-Western political forces).

Inflation is not coming down from a 41 year high. Recent inflation rates were highest in 2022 at 9.2%. The inflation rate was 9.2% in 1990 which is 34 years ago and not 41 years. The upward swing in inflation from 2020 follows the European trend which hit 8,83% in 2022 before dropping back down. It's currently 2,4% in the Euro area compared to 2.8% in the UK. The current US inflation rate is 3.3%.
The 30% figure is relative poverty after housing costs have been taken into account before housing costs it's 22% of children live in relative poverty. The UK figures are relative poverty that is where the income is under 60% of the median income for that year. Relative poverty captures the share of people whose income is low by the standards typical in their own country. Comparing these figures to the EU - the EU average is 24.7% - at national levels this figure ranges from 41.5% in Romania down to 10.3% in Slovenia.
What I do find perplexing and is how we have people barely surviving on income from 2 jobs yet there are hundreds of thousands of normal working class people going off to the Euros and spending hundreds of pounds, a sold out Glastonbury weekend with a capacity of 210,000 with tickets priced at £366, there are hundreds of thousands attending the 15 Taylor Swift concerts and passenger traffic at UK airports is nearly back to pre-Covid levels. This sort of expenditure does not scream of destitution.
We live in a global economy. The cost of living crisis and the housing crisis is global. The same issues brought up in this report are happening in every developed country in the world.

Personal responsibility goes a long way too. I have been relatively ok living in the United States - because I was smart enough to not father any children. When you are stretching your paycheck, when you are paying rent, it is probably not a good idea to have children. Gotta be financially secure first before you even think about having kids. I am more financially secure these days, but I still feel I may struggle if I have kids.
Of course, if one has stability today, it's important to keep in mind that this stability is not certain. In my life, I witnesses a few great disruptions: 1) collapse of the USSR as a kid (where I am from originally); 2) long-term struggle in the aftermath. 3) Right after moving to the United States I saw the 2008 economic crisis and a few more years of struggle. 4) The virus and its economic aftermath manifesting in inflation. I do not wanna blame politicians from this or that party - disruptions happen and it is hard to adapt. My point is that one needs to ensure that he or she has both some reserve capital and valuable skills to survive and thrive not only in good times but also in bad times.
