The guy just echoes popular surface-level theories, that appeal to the confirmation bias of most Pakistanis. Very little substance and novelty in ideas.
Especially wrt China, the outlook is near-delusional. He described China as the good guy, helping make "friends" with regional rivals. He's got zero clue about China's conflicts and aggressive foreign policy towards its east Asian neighbors, how it claims other countries' waters as its own despite the area being thousands of miles away deep into the Asia-Pacific. Countries like Vietnam, Philippines, Japan, Taiwan and even Malaysia and Indonesia have serious issues with China interfering in their territorial and economic water zones. But for him, any country protesting against China would mean "Oh US ne inko China ke khilaaf kiya hoga".
1. Coming to China's economy, it is majorly dependent on foreign consumption for growth and survival, which means if the Western economies have a downfall in economy and consumer consumption, that will be followed by a downfall in the Chinese economy. And the signs are already showing within Chinese economy. There is near-total vacuum of reliable information on Chinese economy on social media, and most folks naively believe the growth numbers coming out from Chinese-controlled state banks. It's comical how "experts" like this one don't read into an evident fact that the most-populous country in the world (now 2nd to India) does not feature any domestic news about citizen complaints/protests over economy on the global stage (cause the media and social media is cutoff from the world by CCP), and they readily believe whatever is coming out from CCP mouthpieces like Global Times and CGTN. Compare that to India or any country of significant size and economy, and you'd read even the smallest news of disturbances or protests, or economic difficulties.
2. Another major reason why China was able to accumulate so much reserve wealth over the past 15 years was its dependence on land sales (technically lease) to real estate developers through local govts, that served as the major portion of their tax collection. During recessions like that of 2008-09, China essentially over-invested in low-return large-scale infrastructure like high-speed trains on less-busy routes, which formed a big chunk of its GDP growth. Even today, real estate and construction contributes to nearly 30% of China's GDP. Compare that to developed countries, where on paper the growth rates might be lower, but that's because they already have that infrastructure built where it is required, unlike building redundant high-speed rails to achieve growth targets.
3. There is a slump in China's domestic consumption since last 2 years. A reliable proxy-indicator of the Chinese consumer affluence and growth is Pork meat consumption, the most-luxury meat considered in China. Total pork consumption in China for the first time in the last 30 years, decreased by nearly 1 million tonnes in 2023, from 54 million tonnes in 2022. Foreign investors are taking money out of the Chinese stock market. The world's stocks on average grew 11% in value last year, whereas in Chinese stock market, they declined.
While most western economies are experiencing stagflation (meaning lack of growth but people still largely spending causing inflation), China is experiencing slowdown with almost no inflation, indicating people don't have expendable money to spend and prices are not rising despite there being a shortage of key resources globally.
4. Xi Jinping is Mao re-incarnated, and he is likely to take the Chinese economy into a wall, in order to save his own legacy. Just how Mao caused a man-made famine killing nearly 55 million Chinese in the late 1950s, or how he butchered the entire culture and ethos of the Chinese people through his Cultural Revolution later. The result of that was a decadence in general ethics and morals within the Chinese society. Everyone in China is out for their own. From CCP officials earning via corruption, to common-man like restaurant owners using sub-standard and fake food products to make money. Most developed countries have high morals when it comes to govt officials or civilians doing their job with honesty, a reason why those systems became developed in the first place.
