Jackie AQ...i am from Trinidad and Tobago. We also say 'cucumba'. Afro Trinbagonians (especially Tobagonians) descended from West African tribes such as the Iboe; Yoruba and possibly even Ghana. That ochro soup looks so delicious however we call pounded plantains 'fufu'. We do not pound yams; dasheen and other provisions except plantains.

    1. We cook fish as seperate stew.
    2. We cook okra and jute leaves as seperate stew but we add potash(what you call kwoom).
    3. We make our 'ugali' by mixing corn and cassava flour then cook and mash just like you do. (We dont buy dough to go and recook).

That's lovely, one of my favourite dishes as well! Grating the okro is a good idea. The jute leaves are a new one for me. I've had the okro stew without tomatoes which really brings out the flavour. Sometimes I add finely chopped garden eggs. Oh, the first time I heard "cucumber" pronounced that way I was confused. Also what we would call mackerel, some call it salmon or osaman. Thank you 💕

Waw!!! I miss this food Banku. It is one of the foods I got attracted to when I was in Ghana in 2016 at Ashesi University. I ate Banku every day for one week but I like it with groundnut soup. It is amazing. Thanks for this video

Hello, I am new to your channel & rather late replying to your vlog.
The green leaves look like Watercress to me, great tasting earthy peppery.
This food looks amazing. I am a fan of gelatinous qualities you get with bones, teaming them up with a strong fish taste will work well.
I shall make some tomorrow before I attempt your dish.
I am very jealous of the people who will be eating your food.
    Beautiful food for beautiful people.
    Enjoy!
