I thought Hebrews took unleavened bread with them when they left Egypt so that they could leave fast. Rapid rise yeast hadn't been invented yet. Exodus 12:33, 34 And the Egyptians urged the people, that they might send them out of the land in haste. For they said, “We all dead.” So the people took their dough before it was leavened, having their kneading bowls bound up in their clothes on their shoulders.

I am not terribly good at the Biblical lore, so you could be right. I just saw some information saying that they took just the unleavened and while the yeast hadn't been invented yet, they were still doing some raised breads in Egypt so I went with it. I'll have to double check on the dates, but I'm pretty sure they did have some raised breads. But like I said, this one is a bit harder to pin down as it is Biblical lore and the dates aren't as set.

@@EccentricNature I’m not sure what the date of the Exodus was, but it is fascinating to look back into the past and realize just how sophisticated ancient cultures were. What we need is some Egyptian tomb graffiti talking about yeast bread or even some Sumerian clay tablets. I’m sure further translation work will reveal a cuneiform restaurant menu offering yeast bread and roast goat with a side of herbs.🥖🐐🪴
