Love your videos man, literally one my fave channels on RUclips. No BS, just real life build videos. I dont have a drift car but I do live vicariously through yours haha. S/O from Australia.
No need to do any of that on a car making less than 400hp. Sloshing isn't an issue. Also when adding a fuel cell, pretty much the only and best option is to tube the rear. And then tube rear means smoke coming inside the cabin all the time and not street friendly. Plus creating another firewall in the back which blocks rear visibility. All to gain absolutely nothing lol
cheaper to get into, and the learning curve is alot shorter. tig set up will use you easily 1k and thats if you find a off brand tig at a ok price. most likely you will be in roughly 1500. you can get a mig set up, up and running for all of 500 if you get a used one off of craigslist.
Awesome Video as usual bro, just one question, when u did the bottom part of the template, u marked it using a pen, but you marked the bottom of the "tube", but then when welding, it looks like the gussets sits perfectly in the middle of the tube! how did you do that? you subtracted half the "width" of the tube?
Yeah when I marked out the template with the marker it was just for the shape. Once it was marked out, I cut out the template and then I kept trimming the template and removing more and more material from the edge until it sat perfectly in the middle of the tube for the cage. Then I took that trimmed up template and transferred it to the metal as you see in the video so make a gusset that would sit in the middle of the tube. Hope that helps :)
OffBeat Garage it's funny how many people bash you for trying to protect yourself, ANYTHING can happen even if you're a "beginner" , better safe than sorry
Lol exactly. And if i'm putting the time into building a cage. Then I'm going to build it to where I know it'll pass tech at every event I go to, which means FD spec
Cαδρεπ Gαmιηg YT Drifting footage at the track doesn't get as many views, takes longer to edit, costs more money to do, and teaches you guys maybe 1/10 of what a build video does. I have over 4 events done that haven't been edited but there's no motivation to do so when there's more important build videos to show.
One thing that annoys me when I see gussets on other cars is when they stop and start like half a foot from the top and bottom of the windshield. Like I'd want it to stop and start out of sight (if that makes any sense).
+First name Last name Yeah when your cage fits as tight as mine you can't paint behind the gusset when you go all the way up and down which causes rust problems hence why you don't go all the way up.
+Eryk I said it in a previous video. People keep complaining about the cage videos taking do long. So I said okay, I'll edit all the videos left and dump them in one day. That way the guys that want to watch those videos will have everything out and the guys that complain about it will only have to skip one day of uploads instead of 4 days of uploads.
+Jerry Moore Videos take long to edit. Work has been done. But also yes. If you're one person building an entire car and want to build it better than most shops would and it's your first time doing everything so you have to teach yourself and learn each and every task. It will take a good chunk of time.
Hmmmm saving about an ounce per side doesn't seem very worth the amount of effort you put in. You did a very good job but do you feel that it the dimpling was worth the weight reduction? Lol I mean..... you could take a piss that weighs more than that or just not wear socks
thanks mr. offbeat! im realy glad you made these build series it helps me so much with my own build, and i learnd a lot of your videos. u can follow my build @ IG:maxkadettd or FB:max heide i cant thank u enough!
It adds up on cars that really care about shaving weight. Realize that race teams will shave any extra thread on each and every bolt on the car and only use single stage paint no primer on the cage just to save weight haha
OffBeat Garage I mean I guess when every car is built similar every ounce counts, but for something like drifting I don't see the purpose of saving just 2 ounces
As he said in the video he really didn't need them. His sidehoops fit so tight that that they were welded to the chassis in 4 different spots. He only made dimple dies to try out his new dimple die set and to show people how to do it in the video.
No idea why you don't have 1000000+ subscribers. So much useful information crammed into every one of your videos. Thank you !!
My pleasure :) and yeah haha click bait people smh... hahah
THANKS MAN, SO HYPED FOR ALL THESE VIDEOS!
Glad to hear it :)
legit would let you build my cage no problem youre fabrication is to a very high standard
Love your videos man, literally one my fave channels on RUclips. No BS, just real life build videos. I dont have a drift car but I do live vicariously through yours haha. S/O from Australia.
It's crazy to see how much you've progressed on the build. Congrats mate
You're super detailed man for every part of the build! Got to take so much time to stay on top of it all but I admire your tenacity!
gussets like an art project
4 Vids today?? Definitely grabbing popcorn for this!
its so weird seeing this all again after i saw it all on your snapchat!
what a good series. you are a good teacher.
awww shit the day ima be outta my house for 3 days gotta save all these awesome welding videos :D thanks bro
YAAAAAAS THE VIDEOS ALL ALL OUT!
You can use weld thru primer to prime metal so it won't rust and still weld it.
Great job removing the front window
Still working on the technique xD
Nikita Rushmanov yep he needs to have a little power with the hammer
wow almost 100K i was here when it was called the RC Devil XD
Parabéns, está ficando cada vez melhor
Acompanho você já faz um tempo, sou do Brasil ^^
Great job dude! Crazy skill!!
damn, killing it with the uploads ;P
I tought the holes where for weight reduction, thanks for the information
damn man, Its so satisfying to see ur build since ur work so neat n clean. Are u gonna make an aluminum dashboard for exterior any soon ?
Man i love your car
Cage is sick bro
How many hours do you think you put into this cage? And how many will it take if you built the same exact one again?
sweeeeeeeeeet! good looking man! why didnt you put a brace through the firewall. (Front shock tower -> cage) =) ????
Illegal and won't pass tech
good job on welding, did you learn it yourself ?
sounds like you didnt know about weld thru primer when you did this :) great invention
Uhh... did you watch the previous videos?!
Are u getting a hydro e brake also will u be getting a fuel cell
Hydro eventually. Fuel cell no
OffBeat Garage why no fuel cell?
They aren't hard to make nor expensive
And are much safer
Are you going to at least baffle and or fuel foam the tank?
No need to do any of that on a car making less than 400hp. Sloshing isn't an issue.
Also when adding a fuel cell, pretty much the only and best option is to tube the rear. And then tube rear means smoke coming inside the cabin all the time and not street friendly. Plus creating another firewall in the back which blocks rear visibility.
All to gain absolutely nothing lol
What color is that purple?! 😍 I need that in my life!
your ocd tendencies are dope I'm the same way lol
Do you ever run into any problems with your welder? Why did you chose mig over tig if you don't mind me asking?
cheaper to get into, and the learning curve is alot shorter. tig set up will use you easily 1k and thats if you find a off brand tig at a ok price. most likely you will be in roughly 1500. you can get a mig set up, up and running for all of 500 if you get a used one off of craigslist.
What paint/mix did you use for the purple on the inside? It's perfect!
Firemist purple from TCP global. Single stage Acrylic Urethane.
Love it, but all that work on the gussets to save so little weight? May as well just drive without socks and underwear instead lol.
Plus it looks fucking badass! then again... driving without socks and underwear can look pretty badass too.

OffBeat Garage okeyy thanks a lot, keep up the good work
Will do :)
Besides cars what else do you like to do?
on perhaps a bit of a weird note, the trips to the dermatologist are paying off
sick!!
When do you begin to work on the Engine?
Generation D ドリフト 2014
2017
Thanks to both of you. very helpful comments 😂😂

⑨⑨⑨⑨
Are you going to upload videos of ebisu? i saw you at Lone Star Drifting channel
Yessir, I'm editing that video next.
Awesome! cant wait to watch it
WHERE ARE YOU AND YOUR AMAZING VIDEOS
Needs some Hot Boy wheels!
did you make a video on the painting of the cage?
Not yet
what engine will end up in this wonerfully fab't chassy
there will be more videos
tube rear end any time soon?
Are you planning to cut the rear end in the future?
+Péter Kulimák Only if I smash it. Stock rear end is really nice and keeps the smoke out
Do you know how much DOM you ended up using on just the cage?(Not including duplicates/errors)
I'm going to say somewhere around 70 feet
OffBeat Garage thanks!
Is your build series done or are there going to be more videos
There will be more eventually covering everything done on the car
awesome look forward to seeing more. and would you have any advice for starting out on a drift build
When more build videous?
Adel, you don't seem happy, you're alright?
Why don't I seem happy? lol
Was it because I was tired while recording in the garage at 2am talking to a camera after editing all day? haha
when this man spends time building a full formula d car and have some to few drift experience
The only difference between a normal car and an fd car is a roll cage lol. Would you rather I not have a safe car to drift in?
I feel u but we wanna see some drifting action..ik this footage over a month old (snapchat)
OffBeat Garage it's funny how many people bash you for trying to protect yourself, ANYTHING can happen even if you're a "beginner" , better safe than sorry

wrap your car!:D

I dided when i saw ur reaction when u cut the peice of card wrong
Hahah fml
Dope as fuck! You're a fuckin beast!
Did you go to fab school?
+Alejandro Carrillo No, self taught
Adel where do you find all this info or facts
+i am Puga Hours of googling hahah
why 4 episodes at ones??? on purpose or by accident
+Eryk I said it in a previous video. People keep complaining about the cage videos taking do long. So I said okay, I'll edit all the videos left and dump them in one day. were do I get that shift knob looks super gripy
www.offbeatgarage.com :)
OffBeat Garage thanks! been looking for something like this 🖒🖒
i would love to have you build me a drift car.
FOUR VIDEOS
what the name of the tool you use for make Gussets ?
It's called a dimple die set.
is it normal to take this long to build a drift car? seems like the body shouldn't take that long
+Jerry Moore Videos take long to edit. Work has been done.
But also yes. If you're one person building an entire car and want to build it better than most shops would and it's your first time doing everything so you have to teach yourself and learn each and every task. It will take a good chunk of time.
are you keeping the body kit?
+ACTIVEGAMER298 Not forever. Stuff always changes haha
Ok , I really just don't care for the rear over fenders
@6:56 kek i do shit like that all the time hah
Hmmmm saving about an ounce per side doesn't seem very worth the amount of effort you put in. You did a very good job but do you feel that it the dimpling was worth the weight reduction? Lol I mean..... you could take a piss that weighs more than that or just not wear socks
hi 😆
Pro drift car?
video dump?
thanks mr. offbeat! im realy glad you made these build series it helps me so much with my own build, and i learnd a lot of your videos. u can follow my build @ IG:maxkadettd or FB:max heide i cant thank u enough!
Im sorry but one ounce for the A Pillars doesn't seem worth it for the time you take doing

OffBeat Garage I mean I guess when every car is built similar every ounce counts, but for something like drifting I don't see the purpose of saving just 2 ounces
Gussets without dimple dies would also look kinda silly.
Nikita Rushmanov your right so best to build a good cage and then there is no need to have gussets
As he said in the video he really didn't need them. His sidehoops fit so tight that that they were welded to the chassis in 4 different spots. He only made dimple dies to try out his new dimple die set and to show people how to do it in the video.
first hahahah
