I love the fact that such a lovely person as you is getting to see some of their dreams come to fruition.
Living in Orlando you still have everyday life to attend to: work, grocery shopping, chores around the house, and other errands. You don’t have time for Disney every day. Life still happens.
Avon has amazing sunscreen that also has bug repellent in it. Crucial against those Florida mosquitoes that can carry nasty diseases.
Congrats on this exciting news! I moved here a year ago about 10 mins away from Animal Kingdom and really enjoy it here so far. The parks haven’t gotten old yet! Also, please don’t be afraid of “betraying” Disney and limit yourself to not living life to the fullest! Please visit Universal, SeaWorld, Discovery Cove, and all the other attractions in the area. It may even help you appreciate Disney even more!
Loved your news. We waited up till 10pm Sat time in Australia for your announcement. We were at Disneyland in May this year. Hoping to do our 8th trip to WDW (total Disney trips incl Disney Hong Kong 15 trips - all from Australia) in Sept/Oct next year. What is the name of David’s blog? Hi Michael - congratulations on the big move! I can tell you from experience that you will not lose the magic! I moved to Florida and stayed for 18 years and my love for Disney only became stronger if that is possible! I know that you will be living your dream and that is truly magical!
Work and life moved us away (in Massachusetts) but your videos keep our magic alive! We are headed to WDW in August and hope to meet up with you!

I like how you said visiting the parks is a personal adventure for each different person. I watch many RUclips Disney accounts and you can see who is more for the food, for the characters, for the rides or the new updates. I like how you look at the MAGIC of Disney at the magic.

Oh my gosh!! I'm so excited to hear that you are moving here! We moved here from Denver almost 4 years ago and I have not regretted it for one second. Just think of all the money you're going to save on flights.

About losing the magic...was just listening to another podcast with people who have moved to Orlando. They say they still love Disney but dislike the tourist congestion corridor. They started out 5 minutes from the park but then moved 20-30 minutes away from WDW just to have a quieter neighborhood. Seems a valid way to keep the magic!

Did you see there's a cheaper way of buying your annual pass to save $2-300. On DFB guide they say become a member of Sam's club (costing $45 a year) & you can buy the annual pass through them & get big discounts of more than $250. We hope this helps you & other members our Disney family. :)

When I worked at WDW, I was baffled that my managers would see non-Disney movies! But what really got me to be a bit more accepting was when the area manager hosted a trip to Universal. It was just him, two managers, me and two of my coworkers/friends. I don't know why he suggested the trip, but I think he used it as a teaching experience for the new managers. Anyway, I thought if they can go to non-Disney parks I guess I can too. Of course, they wouldn't be as good as Disney. But they would be a new experience and that's what life is all about!
Great news and very happy for you! You should definitely visit a universal studios. I would even suggest contacting Universal themselves to see if they would be interested in collaborating with you on it. It would be really interesting to see a die hard Disney fan going to Universal.

Welcome to FL! We are sailing on the one and only annual 3 Night on the Fantasy Aug 7th! You should join us for your 1st trip on the Fantasy and your first cruise as a FL resident! :) CONGRATS on your happy news!
yes you should do all the other parks also, just disney will be the main one lol
Just a heads up it is common to get same day fastpasses for even popular attraction if you look often. We have gotten FOP numerous times. We were annual Passholder for two years and a lot of the time would just wing it. It would get us out of the habit of choosing our favorites in each park. It was a good way for us to keep the magic by allowing us to enjoy and appreciate rides we wouldn’t normally go on. You also can book a hotel from time to time for a staycation and get the 60 Day fastpasses

When and if I move to WDW my gym will be walking at Disney! Lots and lots of walking.
Maybe look at getting a seasonal position at Disney for some of the discounts. My Aunt works for wild world of sports (and when they need her in the parks) so she still gets discounts but it keeps her not 100% in the parks so it stays fresh and fun for her.

Fastpass advice: search same day for last minute availability. And do just 1 FP at a time. Get your next FP as soon as you scan the FP prior. I've done this and gotten 10+ FPs in a day.

You have only scratched the Disney surface. There are so many recreational activities that you never had time to try. Think about boating, fishing, carriage rides, bike rides, horseback rides, mini golf, Wide World of Sports, etc.
I hope you got some advice from locals on the apartment complex. They are rarely as nice as the photos online and often in scary neighborhoods.

To avoid resort parking fees / issues you can park for free at Disney Springs and hop on any resort bus.
You can show us all of the great things Orlando & Florida have to offer we are interested. Tracker does it all the time & other vloggers love seeing other content on florida. Your parents can be snowbirds in the winter down there. That is what many retirees do hope to be one myself in 2 years.
I would love to see you go to Universal! Just to see your reactions! You don’t have to like it but it would be wonderful to see your perspective :)
You will probably still run around a lot at first, then slowly ease into a more leisurely pace, as you realize you can go to the parks WHENEVER YOU WANT! New experiences may then become the priority, but the nostalgic classics will always hold a place.
