Have always appreciated this song. Zep has more than one mode.
This was the first Zep song Robert wrote primarily on his own. Jimmy added the "little drops of rain..." part and harmonized along with Robert. Robert wrote this for his wife. Zep played a variety of styles and will always surprise and delight.
A gorgeous song!! One of the few where you hear Jimmy singing harmony!

I have zero issues with someone completely unfamiliar with a song doing the studio version first. If there is a good live version it allows them to appreciate it for what it is - I'll use the Eagles "Hotel California" studio version, and the "Hell Freezes Over" acoustic versions as an extreme example of this principle. The acoustic version is incredible, but knowing the original allows the listener to really appreciate it for what it is

So here it goes. Please try these two by Mad Season (Layne Staley - singer): Wake Up__River of Deceit. Or these by Mother Love Bone: Chloe Dancer/Crown of Thorns__This is Shangrila__Bone China. Mother Love Bone singer, Andy Wood, died by OD before their first/only album was released. Two MLB members, Jeff Ament and Stone Gossard, went on to form Pearl Jam...and also participated in the Andy Wood tribute album by Temple of the Dog; formed by Chris Cornell, Wood's roommate and friend, and members of Soundgarden and Pearl Jam.

A very loving song
Every Led Zepplin album can be listened to and enjoyed in its' entirety. This choice is a bit surprising though, as it's not a song that typically got radio airplay. i.e. Single as it were.
If you like Zeppelin's "fairytale" style, you've got to check out The Battle Of Evermore. It's definitely in their top five.

"All of My Love" is another one by Zepplin that tugs on the heart strings. Angela, you are such a softie for well-turned lyrical phrasing! Some lucky young man is going to spend a lifetime trying to make you swoon over his whispers!

The greatest love song ever written is Wang Dang Sweet Poontang by Ted Nugent. But this one is pretty good too.

Chris Cornell covered this song live and acoustically many times. He used more vocal power and at the same time less instrumentation, for stripped-down and heartfelt renditions.
