That Yamaha is sweet... I think the Kawi is the bike for me though. With all the crazy rebates they're doing it leaves room for an exhaust/airbox mods/ECU/suspension revalve. Only complaint I have with the Kawi that you can't really fix is the engine vibration.
@@Keeferinctestinghas anyone try a 1mm longer stroke remember 2010 Ktm 450 sx had same bore and stroke as yamie still dose now and when roge got there he said no let’s use longer stroke engine
now im confused.... is the 2025 Stock Yamaha the best 450 to buy or is it not? is it to aggressive for a weekend warrior? or is the Stock Honda better?
@@w.__go.86 For a weekend warrior, I think it’s too much unless you tame it down. The Yamaha Power Tuner maps can help but I still think it’s a lot for a rider that isn’t in shape. Honda has a smoother, easier to ride power. There is a bike for everyone, it just depends what you want from your bike. 👌🏻
I think is best if you ask somebody at the Track side to ride a new YZ for 450 at least for couple laps and you will get your own opinion about engine power, in my 2021 KTM 450 I hate mellow map one but I love map two which is more aggressive , couple months ago switched to YZ 450 and I think stock map feels mellow to me definitely not aggressive I don’t really look for any new map because feels really comfortable. I don’t wanna change anything at all. I did try some bikes when throttle is scary aggressive not big fan of that.
@@jake981 To summarize the vet 4 stroke experience: I'm either detuning a 450f and adding weight to the flywheel to make it rideable or putting 15K into a 350sxf to make it close to a 450 lol.
@ Bro facts. LOL. My 350 though is the best bike I've ever owned. Just do forks and you have a super solid bike. I'm pretty light at 165 lbs though so I don't need more power than 55 HP. LOL.
80 grams is less than 3 ounces, this doesn't seem like it would even be noticeable. On my yz 250 2 stroke I used an 11 ounce FWW that made a nice improvement for off road riding.
GYTR offers a complete heavier flywheel and would help calm the spin up on hardpack when it comes on the pipe. There is also powervalve kit out I have heard of called HITLISS that the offroaders like for mellowing how the bike comes on the pipe. Running a longer silencer may also slow the snap.
@ I just raced and won my 25 and 35 B class championships on bone stock ktm 250 and 450 and now that I decided after the race season was over to throw 1200 dollar spring fork kit on it it’s straight up a cheater bike… and it will last at least 100-250 hours without fail where these Yamahas won’t even make it to 50 hours without taking a shit on you and keefer saying the Yamaha needs 4k in mods to be decent for the average vet Lmmfao… got 12 yz-f in the shop right now all blown motors 2022-2025 😂
Hilarious how the shootout clowns rave about the snap and the power and then say it’s better after you mellow it out 😂 change the entire map throw in 3k worth of upgrades and still shits on you after 30-50 hours 😂
@ this is the best bike of all but needs remapping, revalving, motor mounts, flywheel, and full exhaust oh and it takes a shit on you in 30 hours instead of a stock ktm that will maybe shit on you in 250 or 700… 😂 these guys are absolute trash. Complete puppets. For once I want to see a reliability shootout no maintenance for 100 hours see which bikes lasts.
I installed a moose heavyweight flywheel on my old race bike
1987 CR-500 definitely made it more tractable and rideable
Thanks for all the great information!!!
Great analogy!

agreed
We installed a flywheel weight on our 2006 Yx450f. No more stalls and helped racing xc in the woods.
More flywheel weigh should make less engine braking with its added inertia. slower to gain revs and slower to loose them.

I have tried the bike, yes. Smoother roll on but still a lot of bike for the average rider. Exciting low end engine character.

GYTR or an add on weight is a no brainer for the 250 2 stroke. EVERY pro team used them back in the day (less wheelspin/ more hookup) etc...
