This is why when I teach my students, I teach them to play 3.Nd2 instead of 3.Nc3 b5!? The thing is that it is not necessarily anything that special for Black, but gives pretty interesting game on the other hand…

I have decided to start playing the caro,seems to be very popular especialy the advanced variation and play c5,or the koichnoi letting your Nf6 get swapped off...Just bought a book from amazon its really good,makes a change than the sicilian or e5.

48:12 When 5. ..Nc5 most people are "out of prep" and they don't push 6.e5. I faced Qb6, Qc7, e6, b6. There are lot of interesting ideas within those lines. Also, with e5, when c2 is attacked one could try bd3?

To me, lowly 1700 on lichess, this is pretty high level stuff. At my level, no one knows the best lines with white, so I still have a rather easy time using a little theory. Hello miodrag, please correct me if I’m wrong but I didn’t see what is the continuation for black in the Karpov knight d7 line when white plays knight g5 + bishop d3. I have been analyzing it with the computer and somewhat black seems uncomfortable - some continuations with King e7 or king f8 as the main recommendation by the engine. Please check it for me, thank you
@@MiodragPerunovicOfficial The thing is it seems so easy for white to play than it is for black - There is a line where white plays knight e4 then black takes e4 queen takes knight comes to f6 and white plays queen e2. It’s so easy to play for white - he long castle and pushes his king side pawns while black is a bit stuck with a passive position - even with the b6-c5 bishop b7 black doesn’t seem to enjoy the position. I’m talking from a human point of view not an engine one
15:10 It wasn't completely original. The move 8...g5 was already by IM Ristic against GM Markovic in 1998. The olympiad game followed that game until 11...Be6. In the earlier game Ristic played 11...Bf5 and lost.

Panov is not really complicated, and you can research it for yourself, it's similar to some openings
