Why you should shoot Black and White film photography

  • I head out to Valley of Fire here in Nevada, just outside of Las Vegas to experiment with 3 different 35mm film stocks and see how shooting black and white film can really change your mindset when it comes to photography.       Thanks for watching Aidan! i have quite a few, which ill make a video on soon but in this video specifically i have Contax t2, Nikon EM and Nikkormat EL and Pentax IQ zoom 115. CheerS!

    Amazing!! BW hits too hard bro! Colour not needed. I believe it’ll look good framed!
    Which stock did you prefer? And what was your hit rate? I liked your shots on T-max-finer grain makes the textures of the stone look very defined for 35mm. Would you consider returning to shoot with a yellow or red filter? The contrast of the stone against the sky would be crazy!

      Hey Colin, first off thank you so much for watching! Yeah there are definitely a couple from this set I want to blow up and frame.
      I like the richness in blacks from hp5 but I think Tmax takes the cake on this. The finer grain and sharpness of Tmax is just perfect for this location. I have never used a yellow or red filter but ill do some research and super keen on going back for 2.0
