I hope that Power amp is gonna last long since those JBL were 2 Ohms Impedance

It’s had years of hard use. Just used them for another gig this weekend. Amp and speakers are still happy. I honestly don’t remember details if they are matched or not when it comes to ohms and amps (been using a Behringer amp on the regular and promoted the amp to the SB250 sub). It’s definitely outlived the factory internal amp.

Is there a common piece if the the amp that fails? I had a pair, one if them didn't play the high ,you could bearly hear it. The driver itself was good

I think the amps are just under built mostly. In your case, you might have an issue with a crossover or maybe the horn is blown. You could open and check impedance on the horn if it checks out well then try a low powered amp connected just to the horn to see if it functions. If it functions then follow the wiring backwards and check for bad solder joints and bad connections. If that all looks well it’s possible you have a blown high side amp, although usually it would put it into a protection mode.

We should use power amplifier. How many watts of output power is appropriate?

These speakers are rated for 600 watts each. The general rule is you want an amplifier that has more watts than the speaker they are powering, but not over power the speakers in volume. An amp too small can actually ruin the speakers at high volume when they distort.

Have you any problems with the speaker after converting speaker to passive? Any problems with the external amp? How is the crossover working? My onboard amplifier just died I’m thinking to make my speaker passive too. But when I open the enclosure I noticed the woofer is rated at 2 ohm and the tweeter is 8 ohm I can’t find any crossover with 2 ohms woofer. I’ve searching but I only seen 4 ohms and 8ohms crossovers

I'm using a Crown CE2000 to power them and zero issues so far. They sound great and amplifier seems happy. I push them near their limit in gigs and so far it's been great.

So, how did we connect the crossover to the input in the back of the speaker?

I found a matching wattage crossover board online that worked well. I'm still using these speakers... today again actually. They work well. I wish the built in amps still worked, but I have a better peace of mind using an external amp when it comes to reliability since I push them hard.
