I agree that in order to change the world I live in I must make a change in myself first. And it can even be a subtle shift. The important thing is to be willing to recognize my own ever-present need to transform myself in order for the world around me to continue to grow in a truly positive direction. :)))

This video is so simplistic. If by changing yourself includes community engagement we may start real change. Don't expect change if you are not willing to get outside of yourself - get uncomfortable - and engage in organizations that do outreach. Chanting and going to meetings is fine - but if you really want to change the world you MUST reach out to others, join grassroots organizations and make things happen. Whether it is protecting the environment, social justice, fighting poverty, equal rights, welcoming immigrants.... it can only be done by ACTION.... in the street with grassroots participation. That is what I am doing and I see results! Oh and by the way... it also means including everyone... not just the youth.

      prayer and action

It means both...helping others. You have to go to activities to engage with people, encourage people. Chant to manifest your Buddhahood, change your karma, elevate your life condition. Action and chanting. Youth is the focus in this campaign because they will be the future leaders.

Absolutely! That will look different to different people. Based on prayer (chanting) first and then taking action we will do our own inner transformation (human revolution) and study (Nichiren Daishonin, Daisaku Ikeda) will aid us in transforming obstacles into benefits (changing poison into medicine) for ourselves and others = Kosen Rufu (world peace or establishing a never give up attitude in our lives). In my opinion...

Yesterday, I was clever, and thought I could change the world.
Today, I am wiser, and know I can change myself.
The ironic thing is, when you change yourself, you change your reaction to the world, and that reaction ripples through the world in ways you may not even fathom. Community engagement has its place. But it's not just engagement, it's who does it and how they do it. Like Gandhi and non-violent protests vs. neo-Nazis and riots.
Change yourself, and you change your world. No one lives in a vacuum.

Gayle Furbert criticizing the video is not the way. Everyone has their own mission and have to start somewhere.

No one mentioned greed , but i think that is a big pro broblem , the system is only designed for a few people who collectively has more money than the rest of humanity put together . along with this problem goes affordable housing and low wages .

Greed that leads to resource hoarding. People wanna make a sound super complex but it’s really not it’s that simple sin that leads to most things bad.

Cults that say you can change your life by saying some magic words and converting other people. I was in the SGI for many years and the truth is that they are not as open minded as they come off. If you don't believe me? Just ask them how they feel about other forms of buddhism like Zen. Everybody being the same religion is not coexisting.
