This really is an excellent video, guys! The fish were awesome, of course, but for me the little details and advice you gave was amazing. Gem baiting up the black lug was brilliant to watch, for example, and great for new anglers to learn from. Loved the cinematography too. I was absolutely gutted for you, Gem, when you lost that big fish. I could see the rod pumping, that was a big fish!
It was a memorable moment when the leader snapped Tom. These are the things we remember as we get older and look back on as the good times. I was gutted in the moment but now we have a funny moment of me going over on my backside chuckling with Wayne. And thanks for the wonderful comment on the video.

The start of the film with the trawling so close to the shore reasonated with me and your description of the skipper😂 We have had a boat do more or less the same.....gill nets though at Avon beach in Christchurch. Cleared out most of the fish. Shore fishers can't go out more than a 100-120 yards out...why should they come in so close. Anyhow, great film, get well soon.
Great video. As for that trawler, I believe there is a M.C.Z ( Marine conservation zone) along chesil beach. So he was probably breaking the law. Great bass Gemma

You should see the nets in the cove down Portland end, I kid you not, nets within 30 meters! You could hit them at night if you didn't know where they were... Shambles!
Just a question, do you use a shock leader in your set up? And what do you use to switch your rigs out so quickly. New to fishing and looking for any advice/help I can get. We plan on fishing chesil beach next friday, using some of your top quality rigs 👌
This has been a heinous season for me and my mate. I'm tempted to just give it up tbh. Fed up. I hear all these strories of how good it used to be, all the learning and research I've done, at the state the fishing is compared to the glory days, you need decades of experience to get any where close to a semi good session, but for newbies it's terrible unless you are lucky like I am every 6 months. Dunno, kind of losing the love for it now
