Very nice! I tried making Maggy a vest back when she was in training but I'm not very good at sewing so it wasn't all that great. I'm saving up to try again though because she needs something better than what she has. I used Frozen fabric for hers. I made her a little mat that turned out pretty good but It's a little big for her. I want to try again and make her a matching mat, vest, and a small zipper bag for the mat. I just need some good fabric. I never thought of using cardboard for the templet but it makes sense. I used plain white fabric and screwed up the measurements.
I got the fabric at JoAnn's and the rest at Hobby Lobby. I know they have some (if not all) of the materials at JoAnn's, I had just stopped at Hobby Lobby first.
This is the first video I've seen in my search to figure out how to make a vest for my service dog in training and ironically his name is also Remus!

How would you do this if you didn’t need/want the pockets? I don’t need the pockets for my boy’s vest but this is the best tutorial I’ve found!
Just make the base piece. Don't cut pocket fabric. Don't need a zipper or bias for it. Just sew the base fabric pieces, straps, and patches etc

I'm gonna try this. Vests are so expensive but I would love a vest for my dog in training cause I'm sick of getting crap for having him with me lol

its a lot cheaper to buy webbing by the yard but ARGHHHH THEY NEVER HAVE BLACK WEBBING AT HOBBY LOBBY
Can you put the dimensions/ size of the vest?
So, the best way to make the vest is to measure your dog so you have the right size.
What fabric is it I thought Ir was cotton
I believe it's cotton, but honestly I'm not sure.
