🔥 🎣 🔪 While i was cycling in North Lapland ( Finland&Norway) i was relying on my fishing skills for food. I was catching and cooking fish while cycling often. In this video show you how i gut, clean and cook the fish After catching it in the wild in 2 different ways! btw, the second way is one of my favourite way of cooking fish.

Where are you fishing - which time of the year?How to make a fire 🔥 there in the wildernis - when it is pretty wet. When you are alone ,it is different than when you are with 2 to make the fire.

Hi joe, in Northern Finland and Norway. There is a bit challenges to make fire when it is wet, but not a big deal at all. You need to know where to find the tinder. Definitely it is different when we are cycling together. But each has it's own , negative and positive sides 😊

What kind of fishing setup are you using? Are you using a float and bait?
I want to put together a fishing setup for world travel, but don't know what the beat option would be. I was leaning towards fly fishing for a while, but now I'm not sure...
Hi I carry a very simple fly fishing setup and traditional hook and worm style. But what setup is good, it is difficult to answer because it depends on where u fish, which kind of fish is there and athe season. But usually traditional earth worm and hook style works. 😊
@@NomadsTrails Maybe I'll go with the fly rod then - plenty of choice in flies and can always add a worm and bobber easily enough.

Great video ! I have cleaned and cooked many fish, but I'm curious what species of fish this is. It appears to be a perch of some kind? In the states where I grew up the perch have too large scales so they are less enjoyable to eat without scaling first. But it appears you're not scaling, so I guess the scales are smaller. Which is nice ! Saves time !
Hi Jan, the Species were Prech and second it should be Whitefish but also looks a bit like Grayling 😊

I like to marinade it soy sauce and butterfly the fish open for a quicker cook time. And what is your bear protocol?
Soya sauce, sounds very interesting. but i need carry it on my bike or backpack with me 😅. but i will try this for sure. bear's are not really an issue in Finland. they keep distance from Humans. it is very different story compare to North America.

Unfortunately she is ill and is not able to cycle. It is a chronic disease ❤, But she is always a member of Nomadstrails team, Matilda works with our online content when she can. We try our best. Now Matilda is sick and i do cycle, record, edit and answer comments and emails alone. All these takes time, right? Unfortunately one day is 24 hours not more. Also I need to rest and sleep once in a while 😉😅

So as a vegan i'll be dead in a bike tour in the wrong country?
Nothing is gained from dramatizing yourself. Find Mark Beaumont videos and see what he says that you can apply. These bicycle travlers aren't vegan so you'll need to learn strategies to apply in other aspects of travel from them.
There are fruit,vegetables ,pulses,nuts etc to be found in all countries.You don't need to resort to taking lives to survive.Just like this guy didn't need to take the life of these fish to survive,as he wasn't in a survival situation.
Just follow Durianrider. White rice, fruit (banana's) and sugar.
