The sound of the strumming is beautiful. Do you only use your thumb to strum throughout? Besides using your thumb to strum the G as 1st beat/base, did you also use thumb to strum the the rest of the string for the rest of the beat? I don't see your fingers moving except your thumb, am I right?
Thank you...you are right about me just using my thumb. The strum is D - D - DUDU but I just hit my top Low G string on the first down strum and the second down strum you're right that I play all strings then the following down up down up are all strings played with the flesh of my thumb on the down and nail of my thumb on the upbeats. It's just a technique I've developed over the years and gives a lovely bass beat from the Low G string on the first beat....hope this helps and thanks so much for following our channel ...sending our best wishes to you...:)
Hi Kim....I'm strumming Down, Down, Down Up, Down Up.... But I do just hit my top ( 4th ) string on the Down Beats which is just a style I have developed. As my uke has a Low G string this give a bit of a bass sound but also works on a uke with a high G string. The main thing is not to get hung up on strumming just " go with the feel " of the song you're playing...if it sound's right it is right...you can always try different things, record yourself and watch back to check things sound OK...main thing is just to relax and have fun, strumming becomes instinctive with lots of practice...start slow then gradually build up the speed... Good luck...:)

..hi...there's are lots of free beginner uke tutorials on RUclips just check them out ( we do many on our channel...just check our past videos for tutorials on basic strumming etc ) ...and see if there is a ukulele club near you and go along... they'll guide you through the learning process and you'll meet some amazing people....have fun...👍😊🎶🎵💖
