  • In this video recorded by Umberto Pavanello, Technical AEC Infrastructure at Orienta+Trium srl, we will show you how to measure a facade with BLK3D for a restoration and energy efficiency project.
The Leica BLK3D offers three different workflows that can be used depending of the project needs:
MEASUREMENT STATION: The Leica BLK3D transforms into a professional laser measurement station when installed on the DST 360 adapter, allowing point-to-point surveying of the facade with millimetres precision. The graphic rendering is displayed in real time on the BLK3D screen, ready for CAD processing.
REALITY CAPTURE: Capture measurable images with the BLK3D “Reality Capture” function and measure distance and surfaces directly on the image. You can measure the height of a 3-4 stories building with centimetres precision. This solution is perfect for estimations and to plan for materials.
PHOTOGRAMMETRY: Use the BLK3D function “Image Group” to capture the facade from multiple angles. Process the point cloud from images using a 3rd party photogrammetry SW. The 3D model will be automatically scaled and oriented thanks to the BLK3D sensors and calibrated stereo camera.

Cool Idea but in the real world mine hasn't worked once its a complete waste of time and money

It didn't work for me either. The IPhone's Lidar sensor was more effective.
