I have to say it was really nice to see the entire C&D gang in one video!! You are all so incredibly talented. Loved all the gingerbread houses. Could they possibly be displayed on the website for a closer look?
The hard candy windows are GENIUS! One tip I have for cut-out cookies: Roll the dough out between two pieces of non-stick baking parchment. No sticking, no flour needed, endless roll-out possible. Just wipe down the parchment afterwards, and reuse it for the next batch of cookies.
@@marielat2996 That depends on the cookie. If I'm making a cookie with jam sandwiched between two halves, I go for 2mm. If it's a single cookie that I just decorate with some drizzled chocolate, I go to up to 4mm. But that's all a matter of preference. I like my cookies small and dainty, so I can try a dozen before I pass out in a sugar-induced coma ;-)

Sally and Dane are doing an amazing job as always, Jemma’s gingerbread C&D is super epic, but I wanna shout out to Rosie for her unconventional multicolored design! I admire the C&D team’s creativity and precision so much!
You can use melted sugar, caramelisation, as the cement to secure your walls and roof! It’s marvelous and does the trick, as it glues it all in place rapidly and it won’t break or tumble down. Greetings from Portugal.
I know the team are professional cake bakers so I imagined amazing houses, but they turned out so much better than what I could have imagined! It would be nice to get a closer look at all the houses, to appreciate the art of the gingerbread house decorator and also get inspiration
Oh my goodness Jemma, you even made the bench outside!!!! I love them all but my favourite was the super colorful one between Sally's and Jemma's at the end! Gorgeous!
Cutest moment of the video is where Dane puts on his festive reindeer ears. Like he was waiting all day to wear it, so happy :D All gingerbread houses really look amazing. Never made one before, only cookies. But this makes me really want to try it!
Whoever came up with the idea of baking the candy windows with the gingerbread is a genius. The windows are always the part that stumps most people. Oh, and i LOVED Danes roof
Omg, I am speechless this video was so funnnnnnnnnnn!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and Honestly name a more iconic trio than Jemma, Sally, and Dane, I mean come on you guys psssst..... (whispering loudly lol) THEY'RE UNBEATABLE.
Cupcakejemma amazing watching you all making those beautiful gingerbread houses my sister I will be coming down in the new year to see you guys have a wonderful Christmas. 🎉🎊⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐bakes.
I FINALLY managed to visit crumbs & doilies when I was in london the other week I was so excited to be in the shop I had seen so many times on here, I aslo go to see the gingerbread shop in person which was even more amazing in person. I loved getting to try my fav red velvet which was amazing....until next time
Awesome I love doing gingerbread especially custom stuff. A couple years ago we had a little craft food get together, my daughter and I decorated one house and a friend of ours and her daughter decorated another. I did at Twix house with shortbread house, then I spread dulce de leche all over the entire thing, covered it in milk chocolate and then decorated it. When my daughter was little I did a secret gingerbread train with cars, a train station with landscape. All the cars we're full of homemade candy. And I use some cotton candy as accent I had a really light blue color. I did stacked cookie trees and people. I did the whole thing while everybody slept and they woke up to it Christmas morning. Everybody is looking at it and eating on it all day, it took an entire kitchen table up
@@hananurra6122 Thank you. That's why I was such a good cake decorator and caterer, and I could do the rest of the theme party planning with making the decorations as well. Now she's a bratty teenager in high school, they certainly do not have as much homework as we did when I was in high school.
@@joyherting3705 Whoaa you certainly passionate about food and enjoy to please people with food. Love that! I think your daughter just being teenager, she'll get over it haha.

An absolutely lovely one guys!!! Entire team got involved and those masterpieces are to die for!!! Christmas is here! *woot woot*! HAPPY HOLS C&D TEAM!!!
Loved that you had the whole gang working on these! It would have been nice if more than Dane and Sally had all the close ups and details. These all look amazing and would love to see all of them in more detail.
I've started making a few gingerbread houses for friends this Christmas. One thing i noticed straight away is that he is kneading it way too much and also it looked very dry - mine was quite a wet mixture. If you overwork it or roll it too much it becomes dry and tough and you lose the flavor and texture of it. With the scraps also you don't need to knead it into a ball again and again but just loosely lay the scraps in a pile and chill for a good amount of time for the dough to relax. Also a good gingerbread dough has to have molasses in it for the best dark rich flavor - but you can also use treacle or golden syrup and still get an intense flavor from the gingerbread. I baked the pieces of my gingerbread house for 8 - 9 mins (15 mins sounds way too long) and then egg washed them as they came out of the oven. The egg wash keeps the inside of the gingerbread moist and acts like a bit of a barrier but even better it gives it a glossy finish which looks pretty good in my opinion.
Yeah this dough was very difficult to work with, it just crumbled apart, there wasn’t much of it to even make the pieces needed, unless rolled very thin, but then it just continued to crumble. I’m going through with it because now I’m invested (we’re having a gingerbread house decorating party) but I won’t be using this recipe again, it’s taking me so many hours longer than necessary.
This was such a wonderful video!!! I feel all warm and fuzzy 🥰 I can’t wait to make a gingerbread house with my sister over Christmas. Thank you to everyone at C&D - you’re the best!! Xx
You all need to come over to saint louis, over here in the middle of the US. We are fantastic at junk food here. I’d love to see your take on our gooey butter cake.
Yay!!! My mom used to make a cookie house every year. It was a chocolate cookie house and we would smoosh mini marshmallows and tile them on the roof for snow. And a piece of the roof was the best part! Chocolate cookie, royal icing, and marshmallows!
My sister saw an idea on tik tok to use sugar syrup as a way of binding the panels together! Thank you for sharing this team. You've inspired me and my siblings to have a go x
I think you can download various gingerbread house templates from Ann Reardon's website, How To Cook That, plus she has all the tutorials from several years now on her RUclips channel.
I make so many gingerbread houses every year for gifts, it’s great to have so many different decoration inspirations in one video. I’m definitely stealing Danes sprinkles roof. I also make one massive house for a decoration and it gets eaten on Christmas and Boxing Day, and yes lights are essential. I put it together with toffee so it holds together better. If you are making them for gifts find a cookie cutter maker and buy cookie cutters to make your house it is so much easier.
You can also use ur rest of the dough as support to assemble yours gingerbread house. Like baking and cutting few triangles and put them inside of your house. It will be easier for you and you won't need any help :)
I went rogue this year and am working on a to scale version of my own house...fingers crossed. These gingerbread houses are totally inspiring as I figure out my own decorating plan 💜
I LOVED this video! I needed it after a long stressful week! Thank you sooo much! I might have to try making these now that I have an American full sized oven and I can fit more than 6 cupcakes in at a time. Thank you again!
