- Continuing the comp and going back to Maya to correct issues and finalize the scene for a better quality render.
These lectures were originally built for a college VFX class that I teach, taking students from beginner to intermediate level. Over the course of this 9-hour course, brush up on PBR surfacing with UDIMs, learn about lighting, AOVs, render layers, batch and sequence rendering, EXR compositing, and ACEScg with Maya, V-Ray, and After Effects.

Hello, may I ask if you use AE to composite projects of the level of “The Mandalorian” without feeling the software is lagging or slow? In my work experience, as long as the production quality is high, using a production workflow similar to EXR format, AE will be very slow to operate the materials, and even prone to errors and crashes. How do you solve this?
AE is a resource hog. I would make sure you have as much RAM as you can and work off NVMe drives if possible. Pulling heavy EXR frames from a network is usually not advised if you can work locally.
