I'm sure others have told you guys but Tim has a doo-wop album he has released 3 of them with video so far. He releases 1 a month. Austin released a few new one Bring Him Home from the musical Les Misèrables. It will BLOW your mind. Chance has also released A cover of Poncho and Lefty.

Home Free took this song back to its origin. It was in a prison movie the 1955 UNCHAINED. This was 10 years before the Righteous Brother created there classic version. The plot of the movie was a man in prison thinking about whether to escape and always be on the run or just serve his time and go home. Also he was wondering if his wife was still waiting for him. There do-wop style fit the lonely lament style of the movie. Tim has released a solo album of do-wop songs and 3 videos from the album are on you tube.

Tim has released a 12 cut Do Wop acapella album and has dropped 3 of the tunes already. The song was written for a 1955(?) movie "Unchained" and their video
reflected moments of the movie. Look for Chance and Adam having brawl wounds and Adam twisting his wedding ring. Stay safe guys.
The Righteous Brothers had a big hit with "Unchained Melody" in 1965. It was considered blue-eyed soul. Home Free did such a beautiful rendition of this classic song. They did it in the 50's-60's doo-wop style. The video in prison is very fitting as this song was originally written for the 1955 prison film "Unchained". The film centered on a man who contemplates either escaping from prison to live life on the run or finishing his sentence and returning to his wife & family. The song focuses on someone who pines for a lover he has not seen in a "long, lonely time".

I really like how the Home Free guys did this song. The Doo Wop is one of my favorite songs from back in the day. As already mentioned Tim did a doo wop album of 12 songs...Pieces Of Me...the three already released songs are...Come Go With Me...Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow/Stay...and...In My Room...(a Beach Boys song). All of these songs are Tim and other Tim's singing along with him. He is something else with the range shown there. When you have the time you will be amazed. Thanks guys.

The inspiration from their version came from the movie Unchained, which was about 10 years before the Righteous Brothers did it.
The group that really got A capella back on people's radar was Straight No Chaser. They were a college Acapella group from Indiana University back in the 90's. In the middle 2000's, someone found a bunch of their old videos, and posted them on RUclips. One, their 12 Days of Christmas video (a parody/medley) went viral, with millions and millions of views. A record company contacted the guy who posted the video and asked if they wanted to reform the group, which they managed to do. Guys who had been out of school for more than 10 years, and had careers, quit their jobs in order to go on tour and make some recordings, and they blew up. That kind of got people thinking that they could sell Acapella, and a few years later, they conceived The Sing Off, which brought us, Pentatonix, Home Free, VoicePlay, Street Corner Symphony, The Filharmonix and bunch of other groups, who, while not as much in the forefront as PTX, HF or VP, are still doing fairly well, and entertaining audiences all over.

This is so good. It’s a cover. Home Free went back to the original written for a prison movie Unchained in 1955. It was a huge hit for the Righteous Brothers in the 60’s. If you love Doo Wop you must listen to Tim Foust (bass) sing Will You Still Love Me/Stay (a mashup) and a Beach Boys song In My Room. Those songs are so good and Tim does all the voices. He shows off his 5 octave range which is amazing. He has a whole album of Doo Wop. Good reaction boys! 🥰😀

The Rightous Brothers probably had the biggest hit with this song back around '62. Elvis has done it too. Originally written for the movie Unchained backing the 50s about a man in prison who wasn't sure should he break out or wait and go back to his family. Hence the name if the song. And Home Free blew it out of the park. They did their homework. Thanks for the reaction

The origin of this song was a 1955 prison movie called Unchained. There is a clip online of that scene. Austin's solo version of this song sound just as good. He dropped his video 1/14/21 while this one released 2/14/22, 13 months apart. BTW In the Still of the Night is found on Tim's Pieces of Me Vol 1. No video as of yet.
This song will always belong to Bobby Hatfield. But no one has come closer to dethroning him than Home Free. An absolute gem.

I agree with the folks who have suggested anything from Tim's doo wop album, as well as the Austin song. Tim's shows off his range, and Austin's will just blow you away. They have both also done their own versions of this song.

First, you would love Bobby Hatfield's version of Unchained Melody, second you would love Austin Brown's version of this song. They stayed true to The Righteous Brothers original. Hope you react to both of these. Bobby is the GOAT on this song.
The original song was made for a 50's movie called chained and so they actually have gone back to the original thought behind the song. Awesome.

Doo-Wop was mostly late 50's thru early 60's, what you were referring to regarding jazz was called Skat. Also, this song was written in 1955 for a movie titled "Unchained", it's about a man in prison who misses his wife and family and is trying to decide if he should break out of prison and go on the lam or serve out his sentence. That why they did the video with them in jail, it was an omage to the movie.

I know it hearkens back to the mid-century movie and they portray it spectacularly, but I do hate seeing our guys behind bars. 😕 However, they can definitely "emote" through their music/videos better than just about anyone else out there!! ❤️🎼🥰🎶❤️
I don't know if you know this or not, but there was a TV show that aired in 2009 called The Sing-Off that was made specifically for acapella groups. Pentatonix was on season 3 and won. Home Free and VoicePlay were on season 4, however Home Free won.
Tim came out with a new doo wop album of 12 songs called, Pieces of Me, in which he sings all parts. Three of them have already been released: Come Go With Me, Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow/Stay, and In My Room. They are awesome. Maybe you can include Tim separately in your rotation of artist reactions. I mean, where else are you going to get your doo wop fix?

So glad you reacted to Home Free again! This one is one of their best! If y’all want more Doo Woo, check out Tim’s solo album “Pieces of Me (Volume 1) Doo Wop” He’s released 3 or 4! The whole album is excellent! Austin is still releasing new stuff, too! Also, Voice Play released their fantastic cover of “We Don’t Talk About Bruno” and it will blow you away! Love your analysis, and your humor. I have to admit, I NEVER thought that I would come to love an a cappella group. I found HF 3 or 4 years ago, and I think I love them because they approach their music as a vocal BAND. The other a cappella groups just don’t pull me in as HF has done. As for recent music by them, for Valentine’s Day they also released “Amazed”… Overalls has the lead and it’s fantastic… and “Make You Feel My Love”, beautiful vocals with a video that is a teaser for the female fans, with their usual humor.

I’m playing catch-up with you and happy to see this one. It’s such a haunting song, and their setting really shows that. Austin is trained musically in theater. He sings some very difficult songs, but he places the notes perfectly. The harmonies are always so tight and beautiful. By the way Matt, your pants look comfy! Thanks for this reaction.

For more Home Free Doo Wop goodness check out stuff from their Kickin It Old School album. Songs I really I like include Under the Boardwalk, Blue Moon, Stand By Me, and King of the Road. Note that this from 2009, so it before Tim, Austin, and now Chance joined the group. The sound is a little more raw, but still great.
