India industrial output as a percentage of global output (~3%)has not really changed since 2018 in spite of Modi‘s “Make in India” initiatives in the last ten years. Besides its numerous domestic problems, India has to compete with other developing countries like Vietnam, Mexico to build export driven manufacturing base against increasing protectionism in the West.
India's inefficient industry is protected by some of the highest tariffs in the world. In terms of trade, India is very uncompetitive. Exports less than tiny Netherlands.
Because Vietnam is more pragmatis. They focus on their own development and goal. And accept all investment from all side, from China, US, European, Japan, SK, etc. While India only focus how to beat China, China and China..... it makes India lost the focus and lost the investment from China. You need to combine all investment in your country to speed up the development. 😁😁😁
Namaskar 🙏🙏🙏🙏 Lets be honest- China is not concerned about Rank 111 Hunger Index India which has 1/3rd of its children stunted due to malnourishment. Only Indians are obsessed with China and Indian media has created a ghastly image of China. But Indian Vloggers have exposed the truth. India is a century behind China - in terms of economic and social development. There is no competition. An average Chinese is 5 times richer than an average Indian. Its like comparing Canada with Sudan. Similar population size, but no other similarity🙏🙏
Agreed. India should not be obsessed with beating China everyday but rather work with them to firstly modernise its factories, infrastructures and their workforce.

The list, obtained by Associated Press, was compiled by Pakistani investigators determined to break up trafficking networks exploiting the country's poor and vulnerable. According to the Chinese government, state sponsored £laves trade is to combat demographic dividend & sexual frustration experienced by Chinese workers for their inhumane working condition. 🙏🙏🙏
China's competitor is the United States, not India! In China, there is very little news about India! China hopes that all Asian countries can develop better and better! India and China have been neighbors for thousands of years and have not had many conflicts in history, so let's focus on our respective economic development!
It is 20 to 25 years difference but sometimes you people even say that China is 1000 years ahead of India. But even in 2008 China had a similar economy to India today a 4 trillion economy.
West would never want either China or India to succeed.I hope both countries understand that and work together rather than being pitted against each other.
No unfortunately. China lucked out with cheap labor when it was valuable, now with automation and robots, having a lot of hands is useless. Also China doesn’t have the Caste, religious and language problems India is plagued with.
No robots are there to build big infra projects.still human power is required and india need huge improvement in infra so having lot of hands is not basically useless.china has many problems like increasing old people, decrease working age people l,high debt failing property sector, and foreign capital Exodus which none india faces right now.
@@surfspark Of course, there are robots, Jeet. Check out China's smart ballastless track-laying machine for example. Cuts manpower requirements and costs by 63%. China constructed an 26-storey apartment building in Hunan in 5 Days flat using prefab. Something that will take a couple of years and 2,000 workers in a primitive country like India. Infrastructure is less labor intensive than ever. India is a primitive country with very high tariffs protecting local industries. Thats why India will never be competitive in exports.
@@surfspark Yet India's trade deficit with China has jumped 4 fold from $23 billion in 2010 to $101 billion in 2023-24 🤣🤣 Lets face it.- India make nothing useful. Your main exports are Refined oil from sanction hit countries like Iran and Russia- and Jewellery and Rice.
@@surfspark yeah but why is India building infrastructure? So you can drive from one Indian city to another easily? NO! That is not what the Chinese built infrastructure for, they are the factory of the world, they built factories and infrastructure is the what moved goods to ports to sell to the world. India will not be an export economy like China, so why the expensive infrastructure?
Total pipe dream. First of all China cannot be rival because it's industrial secret is the entire ecosystem of an entire supply chain of things and an abundance of skilled labor created by the Chinese government during the Mao era when the country industrialized back in the 1950s 1960s and 1970s before it opened to the world.. As a result if you want to build any machine in China all the equipment, tools, materials, skill labor knowhow needed to manufacture the machine from raw materials to final product is right there. India doesn't have that In China everything is in just one place. The infrastructure is 100 years ahead of India. The government gets things fine much easier. Moreover, 35% of all Companies in China are state owned. Some of these companies are some of the biggest companies in the world. And they are highly profitable and they are worth gazillions of dollars. At times of crisis the Chinese state tells them to manufacture things to stimulate the Chinese industrial economy and this passes along to the private sector. India doesn't have that. India has lots of people, but that population doesn't have the trades skills knowhow that China has. They are more focused on either farming, commerce or services. India does not have the industrial ecosystem that China has. To build that ecosystem takes decades, not years. Try doing that in a country with a 5 year election cycle. Furthermore, when it comes to money and investing in India the country is like that song from the Eagles, "Hotel California." You can check in, but you can't check out. India has huge capital controls. You can never take your money out of the country after you bring it in. There are a lot of protectionism, and unions in India. And India workers riot and go in strike often. If you think giant corporations haven't tried manufacturing in India before, you are dilusional They have tried, but almost all their endovers ended up in failure with a few exceptions.

What perplexing is why many Indians easily assume that high GDP growth is sustainable for decades to come, while the critical factors India must have to transform into a developed country are basically nonexistence. And if you look at our world history, there had never been a democratic developing country that had successfully transformed into a developed one. Actually all current developed countries were once either authoritarian or dictatorship, and they became democratic only after being developed. So being democratic might not be the right path for developing countries. In fact, democracy in developing countries had spurred corruption big time - a vicious trap which even further hindered the path. In the 1980s, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Singapore, South Korea, Philippine and Indonesia were "not-so-democratic" states. The first 4 succeeded and widely renowned as the "Asian Tigers". But Philippine and Indonesia, once ruled by very strong long-serving dictators, had failed. Why? Because both were just too corrupt. Park Chung Hee (South Korea) was also a strong dictator that ruled for 17 years, but he was way more clean compared to Marcos (Philippine) or Soeharto (Indonesia). Park Chung Hee was well regarded as the one who propelled South Korea into a developed country. So being "non-democratic but clean" for developing countries had a path in world history. Now look at India - a developing, a democracy and a very corrupt country. If India can truly transform into a developed country by 2047 as promised by Modi (Viksit Bharat 2047) - then India will be recognized as the first ever developing country that creates a new path in world history.
India has no chance. India is somewhat like a self-made entrepreneur who started a company and is optimistic about a highly potential project. He has no money and not enough capability, but he is full of confidence, believing that this project will become a trillion-dollar market in the future. Therefore, he thinks his business will achieve long-term, high-speed growth. People like this are very common in life; I believe we have all encountered them, and they almost never succeed.

Have you ever heard the term "military alliance"? The EU are not military allied to China nor India. So, in case of a war between the two, the EU won't join any of them. Almost all of the EU countries are military allied to the US. It is a defensive alliance, which means if China attacks the US, European countries will side with the US. In case of the US attacking, EU will remain neutral. If you want military allies for India in case of a war (I assume you are from India), then you have to form military alliances. I personally think many countries are open to ally with India, but you actually have to form the alliance, and not just talk about it.

I got bad news for you. China has already surpassed the United States by Purchasing Power parity GDP since 2016. Chinas real GDP is 20% larger than the United States. The US economy is a big ponzi scheme. The fed prints money. Lends it to banks at really low interest rates who in turn lends big corporations so they can buy their own stock and prop the value of the stock market. This printing of money then permeates into real estate, securities and the insurance industries. That is why the stock market and housing prices are at all time record prices while the real economy and the American people's bottom line, wages is stagnant or going backwards. Moreover, this has allowed inflation to grow. It has made the ability of ordinary Americans to buy a home to and their purchasing power to plummet. Their US entire GDP numbers are fudged. It includes insurance payment and interest payments on late fees banks charge their borrowers. 30% of the US GDP is also it's theie private health care system that eye gouges American for medical care which produce a lower life expectancy and higher infant mortality than Cuba. When it vomes to the real economy such a manufacturing and tangible things that can be sold and exchanged for hard currency. The US economy is way smaller than China.
In 2010, everybody said China will surpass US by 2020. Now it is 2024 and most economics says China might surpass US by 2030...or maybe by 2035... or maybe by 2040. The very fact you forget is that the population of China is decreasing by several million every year, while the population of the US is increasing by 1.5 million per year.
India doesn't have that
In China everything is in just one place.

To overtake US is not easy. US will try to contain India like what she's doing to China now.
Spend enormous amount of money on space program and military weapons which is better spend on it's people welfare, health care, education and infrastructure! He is jealous of Chinese progress and try to oppose China n cooperate with China to boost the economy, an example is decision to build high speed railway and unwisely choose to cooperate with Japan! China lay low and choose peace and patient so that it can grow without hindrance. India too egoistic n proud!
Good luck India
There is no rivalry cause the pie is big enough for all. Only the greedy US leaders wants the whole pie to themselves 😢

February 24, 1948, Declassified U.S. Foreign Policy:
Furthermore, we have about 50% of the world’s wealth but only 6.3% of its population. This disparity is particularly great as between ourselves and the peoples of Asia. In this situation, we cannot fail to be the object of envy and resentment. Our real task in the coming period is to devise a pattern of relationships which will permit us to maintain this position of disparity without positive detriment to our national security. ... that Japan and the Philippines will be found to be the corner-stones of such a Pacific security system and that if we can contrive to retain effective control over these areas there can be no serious threat to our security from the East within our time.

China should compare with USA or Russia, not India😅
India and China have their own distinct characteristics and approaches, which often lead to comparisons and competition between the two nations. However, it is important to note that their competition is not solely driven by media narratives.
The only questions that matter are, who has a better army and the most beautiful women, china or India?
West wishful thinking, this two countries have different systems, different control and different mentality. Their hope is they can subdue China advances, but not as simple as that, and removing protection will be downfall for reguler people of India
Germany 🇩🇪 go and save your 3️⃣+ years of recessionary Economy🤣 which has been strongly holding the title Sick Man🤪 of Europe😂.Indian Government will grow the economy and it is visible by as we are the Fastest growing economy for 4️⃣+ years😎 so look at your burning 🔥 home first dw😂
India faces major hurdles in competing with China due to extensive bureaucracy, organizational challenges, and security issues. Contrarily, China offers a more conducive environment for manufacturing, with ready infrastructure, efficient bureaucracy, and a robust supply chain. Setting up a factory in India involves navigating complex regulations and securing essential services independently, which can deter investors. In contrast, China provides essential facilities like electricity, water, and security, making it easier and faster to establish and operate businesses. It took 168 day to set up Tesla Shanghai if that was India it will take at least 5 years.
The amazing amount of Ai generated bots with random Indian names , comes in droves writing things like how china is so better ..😂😂 . If India wasnt growing these aunt Jemima and uncle toms would be working at your news channel today anyway neither will you have interviews so frequently as "Indian Experts" neither do chinese need Ai bots
Your Source = Indian?
Indian Musahar bot couldn't handle the truth? Did Modi won a landslide victory? No. Did Indians say that their prime minister Modi is the "most popular Prime Minister/leader of the entire world"? Yes.
they have to change holy cow mentality😂😂😂😂
First tell me where are you getting these information? I've been following Modi's interview since 4 June where did he say this Actually DW let me tell me something very clearly GO FOOL SOME OTHER COUNTRY PEOPLE NEVER EVER TRY TO FOOL INDIANS
If Modi wants to rival China, first he should learn something from the successful story of China. When China started to economic-centric strategy 4 deacades ago, China tried to make good political relationship and hence good economial relationship with every country. No matter it was USA or Soviet Union, no matter it was east Europe/west Eurrope or developing country. If India has a good relation with China, Chinese industries would probably invest hugely in India, due to the potential of the indian market, and at the same time Chinese would happily to earn the money to build up the first class infrastructure in india, power station, train, high way. this would be a win win situation. because India is in eager need for infrastucture, and China has huge amount of capability and also China can provide low-interest loans.
Howerer Modi is eagerly to join QUAD、ACUS to undermine China with USA, and obsesses with the border issue between India and China left by British colonists.
In Contrast to India, Vietnam is the county who really learn something from China. Vietnam refuse to Choose between USA and China. it keeps good relationship with both sides. Chinese industies is investing a lot in Vietnam and the plan for high speed railway connecting China and Vietnam was annonced two months ago.
If there is a country who will be next China, it will be Vietnam.
我们的企业帮助他们建设了很多火电厂 所以这些年印度的电力系统改善了不少 普遍反应赚不到钱 报价很低还不结尾款 现在不建了 因为中国签署了环保协议不在出口火电技术
Tbh at this point prob not , there are more conducive places for manufacturing. Also we are entering the age of AI, robotics that would replace most human factors. And don’t forget climate change which would greatly impact India
China fastly grown because of manufacturing sector. India lost 10yrs didn't see any change due to lack of proper infrastructure and other issues. I think this time modi may push manufacturing sector
China is a huge manufacturing hub - but you know - products are still made in China 😂😂😂😂
Well, I will buy made in china iPhone rather than it smells curry iPhone. 😅😅

India's use of digital technology has been benign, in contrast to China's totalitarian dystopia.
Aadhar card has entered the chat ...
Did you just toss a rock at India and throw a boulder at China in one sentence? 😂
In other words, India has allowed US tech to infiltrate its media, industry and society as a whole, even giving them Israeli spyware so the BJP stays in power. But they better behave or the Americans can cause a lot of problems.
@@jacqdanieles On November 8, 2016, the Indian government announced a massive demonetization effort, removing the country’s largest bills out of circulation, representing 80% of total currency. Demonetization was part of the government’s efforts to combat corruption, curb tax evasion and bring more people into the formal economy. Further, a biometric identity database links your national ID to your biometric data. Financial service providers now are able to easily verify your identity, so you can open a bank account, even without a permanent address. The Unified Payments Interface (UPI) enables cashless payments by linking your ID number, phone number and bank account to a payment address. Now you can share that address with your new employer in Mumbai and get your salary electronically. It also enables you to send money back to your parents or shop at the local market - all on your smartphone - without the need for a costly middleman. DigiLocker and eConsent allow you to store electronic copies of important documents like academic records, your birth certificate and driver’s license. You can then share these documents with potential employers or financial service companies to apply for loans.
😂😂😂 he giving lecture about Indian economic conditions and labour policy sitting far away from India..😂😂😂😂😂
CANNOT, PERIOD.
With other world Democracies decoupling from China, India has a chance to become the next manufacturing hub BUT it better work quickly to solve those problems because Vietnam, Philippines and Malaysia are already working hard to attract business.
India and China are partners, not rival, like Chinese, Indians value education and has good engineers, India could be an alternative manufacturing hub , China suffers labor shortage and labor cost in China has been High lsttly which jadel companies to look at other countries
are you kidding?
China: you are so hiliarious~
As chinese + indian = south east asian, i will say no, both indian and chinese are having same quality at work and business, they are hardworker, good enterpreneur, and smart not like us, we are lazy. But in the social circumtances, hmmm....
I work with both Indian and Chinese and the latter working ethics are way better

The prof suffers from the british professorial bad habit of "umm ... umm". That combined with the bad acoustics of her mic + room, makes it a strain to follow what she is saying.😢
Yes, the yumm with the more masculine voice make a bad resonace. DW should check the acoustics before - i pay for it.
The professor was born in Mumbai. We can understand British professors all right.
India wants to succeed in providing a healthy and liveable environment for its population.
Why do you assume it wants to compete with ANYONE?
And who will pay for that?
The “divide and conquer” strategy
They use it on middle east , Europe and now Asia.
This strategy is mostly attributed to the Anglo-Saxon(Uk U$ CAN AUS) diplomacy, they simply applied it most effectively through history.
"This strategy, and all other strategies that try to weaken others so we could overcome them, rule over them, is the strategy of our inherently egocentric, self-serving nature, that thrives on succeeding at the expense of others."
China never wants to be anyone’s rival.
China just wants to work hard so that its people can live a better life.
