sorry no hate but surely the lower bound in the very first quesion would be 55 becuase the ineqaulity is not higher or equal o 54 but higher than 54, therfore the lower bound would be 55 right?
No, as the normal distribution is for continuous data. Hence need to account for 54.1, 54.2. If you used 55, it would discount these. Also, the probability that it is 54 is equal to zero. Ie pr(x>54)=pr(x>=54). 8 months too late, but there you go
no the lower bound would be 54 because there is still possible values between 54 and 55 that are still technically above 54, and they would be fully excluded if the lower bound was 55. also, a lower bound WOULD equate to greater than or equal to. in this case, a lower bound of 54 would mean a score of 54 is still possible to occur, but it is the absolute lowest score that can occur.

Thanks for making
these videos it helps me so much
this topic gives me so much anxiety
facts
Why though?
Isnt the lower bound 55? because it says HIGHER than 54 so 55 and above right?
thank you so much this rly helped me
Why is the LB 54 and not 55 when the question says the score has to be higher than 54 in part a).
Thank You!
If you want a score higher than 54 would the lower bound be 55 not 54 because its not including 54 its anything higher than 54
yes that is what i was thinking
Same thing I was thinking. If it said greater than or equal to 54 that's when you'd put 54 as lower bound.
