Awesome. I am working on a few repairs of my own. The hardest part for me is getting the color to match with stain. Looking forward to see how yours turns out.
Exactly!! I have yet to try and get the colors, it will be tricky that is for sure! I do have a solid plan though to get nice colors...if I don't botch it ;)
nice video. i just fixed a broken antler tip on my 160 class 10 pointer, first attempt. i used a different brand of putty. still two mediums i had to mix (recommended wearing gloves) and water on your gloves to reduce stickiness when mixing. it also sets up in 24 hours. i pre drilled a small hole in the antler and then put gorilla glue in the hole to really support the coat hanger metal piece prior to adding the putty. i worked the putty into the shape i wanted using water to smooth it out that way i did not have to do a lot of sanding. I have seen others use a Dremel tool to sand it as it is faster. all i have left to do is stain or paint the antler tip and i am good to go. i understand a person can add color or stain initially to the putty so possibly little or no staining or painting needs to be done once it dries.
@@swostillwateroutdoors thanks! I know there are many ways to skin a cat so to speak! I’m just glad guys like you make these type of videos to help educate others. Keep up the good work bud!

@@jethrobodine4638 Thanks so much!!!!!!!
Quick question. I broke the antlers on my deer decoy…can I use this product to kind of put them back on?
That would actually work quite well! It is tough stuff! Not sure how long it will hold up in the elements outside, but should work!!
Looks great! I’m looking forward to seeing the final product
Thanks!! One of these days I will get around to finishing up the coloring on the shed!
Yy
What color apoxie sculpt is best for deer antlers??
I think in order to match antler’s color you need to stain it up good!!
My pops shot one of the antlers in half, can it be fixed?
Def can be fixed! That might require drilling a hole into both ends of the antler and inserting and glueing a dowel!
Did you ever do I video of coloring this antler??
I have not….I need to get around to doing that!!
LOL
I have that effect on people ;)
@@swostillwateroutdoors I don’t doubt that one bit! Good stuff!!!
