@@creativepartner1 We members of the Democratic Party are defending the USA against fascists at home and abroad. The so-called "party of Lincoln" died April 15, 1865.
You are both right. The USA is a Constitutional REPUBLIC, but it is ALSO a Representative DEMOCRACY. A Representative DEMOCRACY means that our government is elected by citizens. Here, citizens vote for their government officials.
The funny thing is, Republicans want to say it is a Republic, and the Democrats want to say it is a Democracy. The USA is both.

Compare Liz Chaney to Mitch McConnell or Lindsay Graham or other people who have condemned Trump in the past. She has waaay more balls than any of them choosing country over party. She makes them look very small.

I agree. There is something about Lawrence O’Donnell that I find comforting. Some of it is that he really does his homework, and tells the truth. I grew up with Walter Cronkite, and there just isn’t anyone that comes close to Cronkite … with the exception of O’Donnell. I think I first started to tune in on January 6th, to be honest. I needed then, and I need now, to hear someone clear-headed, and who is angry about the right things. I don’t want both-sides-ism. I’ve heard enough of the other side! I’ve heard enough blatant lies from “my government” during 11/2016-1/20/2021 to last me another entire lifetime. O’Donnell is clear, confident, and authoritative, and on top of that his voice is pleasant to listen to. He calls out the BS, brings on intelligent speakers and guests, and asks good questions. He assumes that his listeners are intelligent, interested, don’t know everything already, but are willing to be informed. He’s not unnecessarily fear mongering, but he also doesn’t sugar coat it if something really needs to be said. I like the video segments, but I mostly listen anyway, so having the full show all in one go is preferable for me, and I don’t have to keep looking for the next tiny segment to listen to. And no one else is all of these things. Velshi is fine, but he isn’t O’Donnell. When I listen to The Last Word “with Lawrence O’Donnell,” I want to actually have HIM be the one on the show! No one else delivers the full package.
Thank you, Lawrence, for your honesty, your intelligence, your wit and wisdom, and also for your anger at the injustices. It helps me feel less alone.
He’s the Walter Cronkite of our century.
@@DawnDavidson I agree. And you are absolutely spot on regarding his voice. I closed my eyes for his opening statement and let my sense of hearing take it all in. Quite pleasant indeed.
And might I add, his calling the Electoral College a “curse” to describe perfectly, the antiquated, useless, and potentially democracy ending system, that was able to give us a monster as commander in chief, should make us all a little, if not a lot, sick.

One of your guests just mentioned "media literacy", and made the pointed observation of American credulity as a grave weakness in the face of Russian information warfare. European nations all too physically close to Russia are very aware of the threat of propaganda, and have instituted awareness campaigns down to the grade-school level. It would be wise to apply a similar approach here: even if Trump is defeated, Russia, and China, will not stop.
When millions of Americans are poorly educated and willfully ignorant, the reality of awareness campaigns are lost as conspiracies that the ‘evil,’ democrats propagated. 🇺🇸🤷🏼♀️⚖️🌎🤯
