My God I had this on a Now That's What I Call Music cassette compilation from 1989. Giving my age away there. Excellent tune. Wish there was more vocal house like this around. I liked it when music and people had soul and substance. ❤️
I remember playing the 7inch 45rpm over, and over, and over until I got sick of it. But have fallen back in love with this track.....31 years later!! GOSH, time flies.....
@@deegx7916 The track actually samples Touch Me by Alisha Warren and Rock-A-Lott by Aretha Franklin. Not sure who the chick is in the music video but she ain’t singing. It was very common in that era for dance acts to have a front woman who didn’t actually sing anything on the track.
@@laurenjohnston3390 To be honest Lauren it was so long ago, I can barely remember the other tracks on the compilation, I just remember this one and playing it to death.
I remember in grade school all the kids singing "Peter Pan had a man" and having to correct them that it was "people can't understand" 🤣🤣🤣 those were the good old days 😊
THe graphics for that videoclip were very good for that day and age and impeccable italian soundproducers, all italian music whether you like it or not is polished and refined to the smallest details.
There are times when you uncover a lost gem... This is that track. I defy anyone to not be moved to elation by this work of thumping brilliance. It will lift your mood in a pre office presentation, or the car journey to work. Whack it on,,,,,n ,,,turn it up to 11
So glad I grew up in the generation that I did. I've been a DJ for the better part of almost 40 years! Especially in the club scene. How much I love spending this style of music and having so much fun with all the past generations of music that have gone by for dancing. I was in the car the other night and I was taking some people who were in there early twenties to some type of show. Later in the car when they got back, they asked me to put on some of today's music which was this slow no dance beat shoot him up MF beating my girl type of music and the lyrics. When they asked what I thought about it I told them I would sum it up in two words. Audio diarrhea! They were shocked at my response and then I said let me give you an example of some of the fun dance music that I spend. Needless to say I changed their minds pretty quickly! Thanks for sharing and keeping the dance music alive :-)
Was/is such a great track. You couldn't go out at the time without hearing it on every dancefloor. Was pretty bad back then though how they wouldn't use the real singer in the videos. They just sampled vocals and put someone there lip syncing it. Many groups did it including Blackbox and N-joi. It was the times but looking back it was pretty bad to rip off other artists and give no credit like that. Clearly the vocals are an Aretha Franklin sample. Noone else sounded like her. The chorus was an Alisha Warren sample. Incredible driving track though that always filled the floor. I loved it and still play the vinyl to this day.
I danced to this in the club music frenzy of the eighties clubbin' generation, where miraculously Disco had morphed effortlessly into Dance Music. Around this time, Eria Fachin's "Saving Myself" & Divine's Love Reaction" was also making waves on the dance floor.
This music make the 90's decade, became the Best age in Brazil... Reminds me when I was at school at 11 and now I'm 43 years old. Blew me away as it still does. Advanced for it's time still even now, timeless.
It's an amazing feeling to hear this song again 30 years later.
My God I had this on a Now That's What I Call Music cassette compilation from 1989. Giving my age away there. Excellent tune. Wish there was more vocal house like this around. I liked it when music and people had soul and substance. ❤️
did is also have a song called Bonita Applebaum on it?
I remember playing the 7inch 45rpm over, and over, and over until I got sick of it. But have fallen back in love with this track.....31 years later!! GOSH, time flies.....
The verses sound very much like Aretha Franklin. Not sure about the choruses, maybe from another soul or disco song.

Saudades !
Podes creer
Também sugiro a música "Don't you love me" -49ers, clássico.🎶👏
I remember in grade school all the kids singing "Peter Pan had a man" and having to correct them that it was "people can't understand" 🤣🤣🤣 those were the good old days 😊
I thought it was, "Peter Pan doesn't care" 🤣
Such is the evolution of the unforgettable eighties that saw disco morphed into dance music. And the 49'ers were a part of it.
Queen Aretha on vocals unmistakable - No one else can sing like that. ❤❤
Quality unrivalled ❤❤❤
Of course 😊. Verse samples Aretha's "Rock-A-Lott"

1989.... rave on!!! 🙂
Two different voices, one singer
Great song still.

Loved Lil Louis' French 😘 Kiss what a track!
The first time I heard this jam was listening to a cassette tape mix from Julian "Jumpin" Perez when he went to spin on B96 in Chicago-1989!
The Sampled Song Is "Rock-A-Lot" By Aretha Franklin from her 31st studio album "Aretha" released in 1986. Great Album!
