  • So far on 1923, we’ve watched Teonna suffer, then escape, one the most horrific tragedies in North American history. But who is this resilient young woman? And is she also related to one of our other favorite Yellowstone characters? Played by wildly talented newcomer Aminah Nieves, Teonna is widely believed to be an ancestor of Yellowstone’s Thomas Rainwater (Gil Birmingham).
WARNING: 1923 and Yellowstone Spoilers ahead...

I have to admit the scenes with Teonna are some of the hardest scenes to watch. I hold my breath and cringe with every scene she’s in. It is heartbreaking.

I love the character Teonna. I want to see more of her. I know I read how horrible the mistreatment of Native Americans in history and despicable everyone was towards them. However to see how horrific their "school" aka abuse was is so cringy and sickening. While using religion as an excuse.

Religion has been the justification of numerous atrocities through the ages. If someone's god is so loving and accepting, then why aren't the so called followers of that god? Just a way for one group to exert power and domination over another in the name of progress, i.e. control of wealth of land, resources and peoples. (The actress deserves an Emmy for her performance...just heartbreaking to watch.)

feel that The Duttons will protect Teonna. When Spencer returns to the ranch we will hear about the deal made with the Native tribe to return the land to the Tribe. I feel Spencer will work together with the Indians to protect the land so the promise will be kept. I feel Spencer will reach out and build a strong army with the warriors from the tribe So there is land to return. Like John, Sr said in the flashback in season 2, when he told Kevin Costner don't give up one inch. He needs to keep it whole. I think that is So It can be returned to the tribe. Family knowledge each Dutton is sworn to keep. I think we have seen Spencer show respect to the native people everywhere he goes. Spencer will honor the promise to the native tribe that gifted the land to them and honor his sister Elsa Just my theory what do you think?

I think - my opinion- since John Dutton's g-son Tate is half Native Indian through his mother Monica, " Half" the ancestral land is already back with the Tribe, I also believe - which we'll have to wait until the storyline plays out- that Jamie's son can also lay claim to the Dutton land and that will be powerplay , I also believe Carter, the boy Rip & Beth took in, will be another Rip , as Rip is to John Dutton so will Carter be to Tate Dutton as I believe that will come into play with Jamie's son, boy that will be a good season to watch if it all happens!

This is - by far - the best of the series! Teonna is definitely a Rainwater.... and this makes Kacee's son the 7th generation! That gives the ranch over to him because he's also a Rainwater! This would save the Yellowstone from the plans Jamie and his woman have planned.... it allows Beth to make it financially successful thru selling the beef and keeps the sworn agreement between James Dutton and Rainwater intact!

I remember well, having been born in Minnesota ( St. Paul / 1943 ) the dismal situation with the states tribal lands.
Watching how Teonna suffered mentally and physically reveals the horrors perpetrated and condoned by "the church/missionaries"
and neurotic nuns of that hideous era.
This production, so expertly produced brings this historic albeit shameful era to the public, at last. Teaonna symbolizes this
    era with sensitively and honor.

Tiana is such a good actress.
I remember my grandmother telling me about this. The abhorrent abuse inflicted on the Indian people is a dark stain on our "christian" nation!
The only people the Catholic church could do this to was the Indians because everyone else knew the atrocities they committed during the 1260 years of the Dark Ages!

    • @sharonrichards7656
      @sharonrichards7656 Год назад

I don’t know that many know, acknowledge, or accept that these atrocities were committed by the Roman Catholic Church/Empire over the centuries, but making it public knowledge today what the Church and the Government on both sides of the northern border did and allowed it to happen to the Indigenous people of this land is an education in itself. The US and Canada today must acknowledge & rectify this era. There are treaties written & signed from many years ago that were never honored or fulfilled, these must be honored now.

Thinking that Teona Rainwater might be related to someone who also has the surname rainwater is like thinking that all black people know each other or that everyone with the surname "Smith" are related to each other.
The scenes were hard to watch, knowing that the brutality & worse was perpetrated on children! Mostly stolen from their homes.
It made the murdering of the 2 Nuns who beat her & molested her, very gratifying to watch.

Don't even wanna watch the show
I myself am Christian, I believe in God, I believe God loves me and does the best for me. But I also believe God never appreciates abuse
He gave the right to choose not the force to become someone else. The rules dont matter to him, pure heart and soul do
What the sister tries to kill the Indian in the girl, she must know that if she changes her religion to save her own life she would do it again, so instead of force and abuse show they love and advantage of Christianity if you want anyone to choose anything, show the good sides not the threats.
Second when the priest said he had compassion but no mercy, God has mercy for all of us who truly regret and ask for mercy so how does a mortal human who is no god decide to judge with no mercy mortal humans like him. They all are sons of God and can't have advantage over each other.
I know true religion and I know God is love not force not abuse not hate and threats
Know this not what the movie shows and not what Europeans did to other nations in the name of God.
The things they did in the name of God is much worse than the ones who don't believe or don't know God.
All they did was add more slaves for their own, not save souls and turn to Christianity.
No true religion forces or has abuse as control and leadership method. Don't be fooled by people who use the name of God for their own evil intensions and remember that the devil once was an angel and he knows how to do many good things so he will use his power but for he wanted to be equal to God he was never forgiven (although I believe if he truly prayed and wanted he would have been forgiven) his pride led him on to keep doing things against God not to see his mistake.
But no abuse in this world will make someone love the abuse maker or the reason for abuse.
