i played one of these when i was trying out a chorus pedal i wish the guitar store person hadn’t let me try this as i can’t stop thinking about it it’s so good
I was about to buy one of these. Same colour, too. Was really looking forward to my new baby. But after listening to Jay's playing, I've slipped into a depressive state and selling everything! Seriously though, these are a cracking guitar...
I like how the caption for this one is "played like a pro" instead of "play like a pro," because let's be real - this guitar isn't going to sound this good in anyone else's hands!
Inspiring playing. I’ve been dithering back and forth over which tele model to get. Seeing what can be done with this one in the hands of someone with massive talent, my decision has been made. Thank you!
The man has an amazing right hand ... this is an overlooked talent . Both of your hands have much to do with your tone & sound. What a great player & a great guitar. I got the butterscotch blonde & she’s a beauty ... simply one of the best guitars you can get.
Amazing skills, I must have watched this video 10x. 5x because I am trying to decide between the tele and Strat pro II, and 5x just for Jay's amazing playing. He can do it all, and a great right hand. Much love and respect from all the way across the country in PEI!!
incredible playing! i want to save video, review it, sput it on slow mode, rewind a hundred times, & learn some of those fabulous licks. what a player you are! & Enthusiastic!
I like the changes to the model, but would have been nice for $1,500 to have had a belly cut for sure (lighten the weight), and maybe throw in some locking tuners.
Hey Jay! Just found your channel. Subscribed! Love your playing. Got the Am Pro II Strat 6 months ago (in Dark Night color/Rosewood fretboard) and love it. The neck is super smooth. Now I want the Am Pro II Tele. Selling my Modern Player Plus (the one with 3 pups - humbucker by bridge). Not so happy with it because it does not have the Tele twang. Getting the new one in a couple of weeks. Thanks for your video and sharing your playing/knowledge.
Jay is the tele player that I measure everyone else against! If I didn't get a Jennings Navigator after his demo this might tempt me! Lovely playing as always.
You are a fantastic musician Jay! I’ve been goin back & forth between the Olympic White, Mercury & now this Sierra Burst.. 😞 Great review/playing! Thank you 🤙🏼
I will agree with the rest of the comments.. your reviewing and guitar playing ability places you in the 500k-1M subscriber category. Just a matter of time. Thanks for these amazing vids
Hi! What amps and cab did you use in this video / settings on them? Best guitar player/demo ever! Also any post on the final audio of the guitar in the video?
I have this guitar, I found the neck pickup to be really muddy and mushy. That's something I've never experienced with a Tele before. Also the bridge seems really overwound. Not a fan. But the rest of the guitar is really nice, and well made. Great demo, thanks.
Learning the guitar is one of the best decisions I ever made in my life: it is always great to see another person joining in on the journey! I did make a video on tips that helped me out when I first started. I hope you get something good out of it :) ruclips.net/video/KLpKbdvW1f8/видео.html
Brother, your playing is what I dream to be able to do. Phenomenal my friend! You are awesome. Do you have a band or any records out? I love listening to your playing.
@@CosmicHippopotamus Yes! For me the less steep angle helps with vibrato/bend "slinkiness", I break a LOT less strings, and the guitar stays in tune a bit better (strings don't caught up in the saddles). The trade off is the transient attack is slightly softer which I actually think works perfect for a telecaster anyways, haha.
Jay do you prefer a modern Tele such as this or perhaps one of the older American Vintage series. Not necessarily that specific series but something like that.
I definitely have more experience with the older style Teles but the American Pro 2 would be my choice if I had to pick a straight up Tele from the current Fender Catalogue (non Custom Shop).
I like your video the most !! above all those Tele Pro ii play through video. Your sound is the best. May I ask which Amp did you use for this one? Or is there anything else that make this Tele sounds like you did. Thanks in advance Cheers!!
You sound awesome which do you like better and what order american professional tele american pro2 or american ultra. Would appreciate your opinion and would love a comparison. Thanks for your videos love your energy
I think the Ultra is great in terms of practicality: tummy cuts, intonation, noiseless pickups, compound radius, and locking tuners. Great choice for a gigging musician that wants a more modern playability. However, because of my fondness for the 3 saddle bridge (especially with the top load option) and experience with older guitars, I find myself more drawn to the pro 2.
@@JayLeonardJ hello so you don't mind it is slightly out of tune? It's not that obvious when you played riffs but whenever you played more strings or chords, I heard it. Do you know if compensated saddle fix it 100% or it is always a compromise? I can't decide which guitar I want :(
Its clever the marketing on these things, ad upgrades one year take them away, re ad the upgrades a couple of years later and then take them away again. I can't blame them, how many times can you re invent something so simple and already pretty perfect. It sounded so unconvincing when he said "I've played the old version today and there is actually some differences" 😂 I'm not for a second saying its a bad guitar, it sound awesome but I'm sure this and the last 10 years of releases are all great and pretty much the same 😅 Still getting that thumbs up, always love your videos, they are always a lot of fun to watch! Keep it up dude! 🤘
Great job Jay! Love the sounds. I just bought this guitar (but a strat), and now I'm getting second thought about it due to the body being in pine. Pine just feels like cheap wood to me as I'm so used to cheap pine furniture. What are your thoughts having played it, any notable diff with these and those in alder? The problem is that I absolutely adore the finish of the Sienna sunburst, so should I just slope my thinking or should I consider alder instead? What are your thoughts? Many thanks, I get way to hyped up over these things....
Fender is being cheap switching from ash. They gave a hundred reasons why they were switching from it, but cost is the main reason. I'm glad I found a comment on the pine body bc I was wondering what people were thinking of it.
There are so many great "solo" guitar players on yt. For sure you are one of them... but you are a great rythm player as well. Thanks for sharing and have a great day Jay!!
@@JayLeonardJ You are welcome Jay. I have just watched new Strat review. In my opinion Strat "felt" that you are huge tele fan and it didn't want to cooperate as good as tele :D
That sounds like a great video idea 👍👍 for me, personally: waaay less strings broken (I break a lot), more stable tuning, slightly slinkier feel, and slightly less ear pick stinging on the bridge pickup 😁
@@JayLeonardJ That makes sense, especially the string breakage thing. I never thought about that. Not an issue for me, because I have a pretty light touch when I play. You, however, have a very aggressive attack, so I could see you breaking the strings often for sure. Also, I agree that would make a great video topic. 😁
Honestly don't understand why Jay doesn't have 500,000 subscribers- one of the best players on RUclips!
He definitely should have way more than what he has.
@@RealMNeutral31 they will soon come if he will sustain. Love his stuff
I find the overproduced quality of the channel pretty off-putting. That and the dude just doesn’t seem genuine. Always selling something.
Because there are many other options, that people obviously prefer.

That color looks way better in the video than pictures. I'm sure it's great in person. Great playing!
I own this exact guitar....and gotta say love it to death. Just had it for a couple of days now and can't put it down
I just got it too, great guitar so far, got it to replace an old strat I got rid of last year
it was so good... the best telecaster pro 2 review which I have ever seen on the YT. I can't wait for my new tele pro II

Excellent cover of sound options and capabilities ... thanks Jay👍
i keep coming to this vid .. still thinking if i should get this telecaster in this exact colour with maple neck ..
The best telecaster review on the web bar none.

Okay you’ve sold me this guitar, thank you for allowing me to hear that godly playing style ! Rocking, subbed.

Wait a tick, it doesn’t sound like that when I play. You’re too good Mr. J!
Haha, thanks so much for watching the vids!
Great guitar from a great performer. Jay is one of the Best.

@Luke The neck alone is worth it. I love my Tele now and will never sell it. Pretty much does everything
@@tonyaguirre6468 So agree. I've never played any guitar with a neck this perfect. 👌
For a measly $150 extra this model should have been given a belly and fore arm cut and would make an arguably affordable guitar. Gr8 review Jay!

Pretty much anything. I don’t have one of this series but I do of the prior series and I didn’t high gain with the pickups.
Inspirational playing as always. I know you prefer a Bigsby, but on a fixed bridge Tele, what makes you prefer top loading over through-body?
