For all Laura Nyro fans, I met a lady recently named Lorette. She said she was a singer, but she wouldn't sing. Recently I looked at her and saw Laura's spirit on her. I said, "You know, your looks remind me of Laura Nyro. You've got Momma Gaia echoing from you, Lorette. Do you know who Laura Nyro is?" She turned her face away from watching the tv, and did a full body side-ways bow of her head to me with the biggest smile! "Yes, I know who Laura Nyro is." She didn't say another word, but ... that smile was so happy that I decided to play Laura's music. Lorette, who quietly keeps to herself, opened up! With the happiest smile, so beautiful, Lorette began to sing ... AND HER VOICE IS IDENTICAL TO LAURA NYRO'S VOICE!! Come to find out, she knows every song and perfers to only sing her songs. She sang perfectly many of her songs, whatever I played. She never said a word, just sang and smiled through many songs I played. She hit every single note the exact same voice. .... I WAS FLOORED!! A couple weeks have passed now, and I can't put my finger on it yet, but my God, she spiritually seems like a proud Mother of Laura Nyro! She holds her composure like that. My goodness .... We live in Costa Mesa, CA. It's too bad she never sang for the public. It's unbelievable. Peace ❤
What a find this is! Laura is exquisite! This is such a treat! I was lucky enough to see her live at Johnny D's in Somerville, MA. Thank you so much for posting this. Perfection! ❤️🎤🎹
Thank you, my friend ! i saw this tour at The Mary Rippon theatre in Boulder, Colorado. It was the 1st of the 13 times i was fortunate enough to see her perform. Beautiful
Thank you for this! I was looking forward to seeing her in Philly, what I recall to be in late July. But she cancelled her date there (and I think the rest of her tour) for health reasons. This recording is a gorgeous fulfillment of what I would've heard. I'm so grateful to hear this! (I did finally hear her live in NYC in 1988.)
btw, the sound, how? Because it seems like we are in a microphone channel. So rich. I have a speaker here that is "Buzzing" the sound is so good we can hear it too.
NESTED TOUR PLAYLIST 1.Rhythm and Blues 2.The Nest 3.Mr. Blue (The Song of Communications) 4.Sweet Blindness 5.American Dreamer 6.Crazy Love 7.Light 8.And When I Die 9.Emmie 10.Sexy Mama 11.In the Country Way 12.Man In The Moon
Den, Thank You for this wonderful gift. Whenever you upload a recording of Laura's that I have not heard before, I still get very excited. I loved her question to the audience about "American Dreamer".
How splendid! Puzzled at the introduction to In the Country Way as a new unfinished song though. As it was on the expanded New York Tendaberry CD I thought it was from this time in her career? (nearly ten years earlier)

Amazing. Can never get enough of Laura
Me too, and as much as I really enjoy some other singers and groups, I find myself coming back to Laura at least once a day.

I recorded a performance of "American Dreamer" by Rumer in LA. Wonderful show and she so loved Nyro.
@@lilredscout She did “American dove” & “Stoned soul picnic”REALLY well live. Rumer gets Laura in a unique way that I love ❤️

It was recorded in 1971 apparently, and she never intended it to be released.
