It wasn't that Washington wasn't quick witted---it was that he knew that if Jefferson or Madison made a mistake during the revolution it could be fixed or re-written. If he made a mistake it could mean the end of the revolution. Washington had to deliberate.on every issue. He couldn't afford not to.

This is good insight on George Washington. I’ve read a lot on the Revolution and his leadership. I’m sure a quick victory was what was wanted most but that wasn’t in the cards. So Washington realized all he had to do was not lose and play on England’s weaknesses. Ultimately it worked with the help of other great men like Greene, Morgan, Lee etc

Washington had a blend of skills and that made him amazing, Then after all that he went thru he established the Presidency for a new nation, He did his job and then stepped down so the people would rule with their votes. He did it for the people not himself. Who has ever done so much and really asked for so little in return?

A federal navy was one of the contributing factors to our formation of a union. A nation’s strength must be sufficient to secure a seat at the victor’s table, only there is future prosperity determined.

This set of videos was well done. Just wondering why y’all didn’t put them all together into one video. It would have certainly made for easier viewing. Still good work.

Naval Superiority is why we live in a free country. Don't buy that "a rifle behind every blade of grass" crap. Armies mean nothing when you have a superior naval advantage.

Not only does a navy protect trade, but the mere presence of a strong federal navy pays dividends during economic bargaining.

He won one battle and that’s it. If you want to talk military genius then there’s Caesar, Napoleon, Rommel, the list goes on but definitely not George Washington

It wasn’t about winning a battle. It was living to fight another day. He may have been a bad battlefield commander, but without question he was an excellent campaigner.

The absolutely important word is hope. In the open sea, the English were invincible but inside of land is different from the sea and if positional advantages use successfully English could be defeated and Washington knew that. On the other hand, we should think that thirteen colonies are fighting against an empire. That's an amazing victory

That’s not true at all that the British were invincible at sea. The entire reason the British lost the war was the British fleet was defeated by the French navy. then the French surrounded York and began bombarding Cornwallis from the sea. while Washington bombarded them from land. The French were massively important for america to win. Nowadays tho most Americans think French are fairly cowardly. ever since losing to the Germans in six weeks. Mostly due to a horrible lack of foresight in leaving the Ardennes forest virtually defenseless cuz they considered it impassible.

@@RebelNinja420 At first, you know, French were defeated before revolutionary war of america at seven years' war against to united kingdom. Britain was dominant power of europe. Second important point is that, french didn't support to continental army before Saratoga victory. French was not been in trenton and princeton war, French didnt fought in cowpen war. Americans won these wars without Frenchs isnt it? Third case is that, french naval support and washington land tactics are not whole story. This is not simple like that. thirteen colony in America fought againt an empire who defated spain and french armies in different places of country. Americans lost conflicts and soldiers and civilians many times. This hopeless position turned a revolution and a Constitutional State.this changing of america was not become a tyranny or kingdom like france. France gave a support in revolution of america and after, america saved france in two world war. I didnt said anything about cowerdice of Frenchs.
