    Let's just take a moment and acknowledge just how mesmerizing it is to watch an LP spin on a nice turntable. Love the entire Aja album. Bought this the day it came out on vinyl.

      Yes LP is nice spread out on a mountain soon and yours ❤ but sometimes I really get off on a real to real , could of should of paid for one 30years ago . I guess if it's not used alot and properly cleaned it can still perform as a real to real?

    • @iigger
      @iigger Год назад

      See the real to real goes on for hours with hardly any fuss.
      LP needs the arm taken on and off every 30minutes. Yes it's nice to hear the scratches of and oldie but goodie, but sometimes there just too warped. You can't imagine how many I've come across that a just too warped to really appreciate the music. Then there's the freaknasee, don't get me going.

      You're not listening to vinyl, however. You're listening to audio that has been digitally compressed, at least twice - once by the uploader's encoding, and the second, by youtube itself. And it frankly sounds like this isn't direct from the source, anyway: it sounds like the uploader recorded the sound coming out of his speakers, probably with the mono mic on his cell phone.

CDs just smear it all together too much. vinyl sounds more like live music and is a bit more raw. it is richer sounding and more real. it like what film is to video. film is better, too. better quality, more depth, better color, looks more real, etc.

    Heerlijk, het geluid vanaf een draaitafel. Oh, wat hield ik van Steely Dan, dat geluid, die stemmen zo mooi samen en dan dat rare orgeltje. Toen en nu, ik zing mee.

      I love when u find old quality stereo eq. I bought a beautiful turntable at a thrift shop. It finally broke. Called Hunt Audio. I know the owner. He said Rich take it to a dumpster close ur eyes and throw it in. That was sooooo hard to do. Remember the JC Penny MTX Stereo. Loved the silver face and toggle switches. Always wanted one. Rock on.

      I disagree.always prefer a belt drive to direct drive turntable,and the midrange is seriously lacking on this upload.sorry mate,but Steely Dan deliver perfection,and perfection is required to listen.

      Cockney Red Plus if you're going to share, put it through the PC. Can't get a full experience recording the speakers. Nice try though, it's better than most who do it this way.

      I wanted to show the turntable in action for its nostalgic value and the raw sound of it playing in the room. I recently acquired a Sony PCM-M10 and will record some more with a direct line in next time.

    Possibly the best drum groove ever recorded. When Jeff Porcaro heard this he made an hour loop of it and play it non-stop. Jim Keltner brilliance. Pure Kelter...listen to Gary Wright Dream Weaver for the same non-linear groove. Dude has ears unlike the rest of us mortals.

      Jeff Porcaro rules-I love your screenname!!Jeff also recorded Peg on a cassette tape and drove around LA listening to it non stop.JP rules forever and always!!Porcaro,Keltner,Gadd.Marotta,Greene and Purdie not a bad group of drummers for the AJA sessions.

      I am fascinated that you said "dude has ears unlike the rest of us mortals". As a long-time drummer who others think has a god-given talent, I myself have determined my drumming skills are not physical nor mental, but aural. I can hear things in other drummers' playing and in music that most people do not hear. That being said, JP is my favorite drummer of all time, followed closely by Louie Bellson and Gregg Bissonette. For radio played songs, SD will always be THE band I turn to for pure listening pleasure. Thank God for players like Jeff, Purdie, Gadd, Moratta, and all of those who have made my listening life so much richer.

      ***** I judge peoples musical knowledge on two things-favorite drummers and favorite bassists, and you pretty much nailed all my favorite drummers.My second favorite behind JP is Jim Gordon others I worship are-Steve Gadd,Tony Williams,Liberty De Vitto(Billy Joel)Danny Serraphine(Chicago),Stewart Copeland,Dennis Chambers,Vinnie Colauita,Dave Weckl and Virgil Donati to name a few.
