Let's just take a moment and acknowledge just how mesmerizing it is to watch an LP spin on a nice turntable. Love the entire Aja album. Bought this the day it came out on vinyl.
Yes LP is nice spread out on a mountain soon and yours ❤ but sometimes I really get off on a real to real , could of should of paid for one 30years ago . I guess if it's not used alot and properly cleaned it can still perform as a real to real?
See the real to real goes on for hours with hardly any fuss. LP needs the arm taken on and off every 30minutes. @@Corekidbeenybunny well really, you could have seen them until 2017. That's when Walter Becker died and they were touring until then. I think Donald Fagen still tours, though. 🙂

You're not listening to vinyl, however. You're listening to audio that has been digitally compressed, at least twice - once by the uploader's encoding, and the second, by youtube itself. And it frankly sounds like this isn't direct from the source, anyway: it sounds like the uploader recorded the sound coming out of his speakers, probably with the mono mic on his cell phone.

Nice job, sounds great I remember my first ever paychecks went to buying a technics receiver, 25 watts per channel etc and then it was the turntable, I used to love that quarts light and adjusting the speed to perfection, thanks for the memories, great tune.
Musically there are some similarities between this and "FM (No Static at All)" One of the best pieces of R & B fused with jazz that the album Aja had to offer. Although the whole album was revolutionary for its time. Thanks to Tenacious V for his inclusion of this on You Tube. I hope everyone else will get up and dance to this music.

vinyl does sound better. you can heard each instrument better. CDs just smear it all together too much. vinyl sounds more like live music and is a bit more raw. it is richer sounding and more real. it like what film is to video. film is better, too. better quality, more depth, better color, looks more real, etc.
It sounds better when recorded directly in to the PC line input but not when recording the speakers with a low quality microphone which is what I presume happened here. Trust me I'm sat behind a nice pair of monitors and like vinyl enough to have three turntables.
No, it's a colossally stupid idea. Do you think you can stream an analog signal? What you're listening to here is a digital recording of an analog recording that now includes the record's surface noise.
The album Aja was Steely Dan's masterpiece........ Steely Dan isthe only artist I could hack mastering the sax. And that whole album was one I'll never forget........ah the times and the memories. Classic....... blazin' still.
I was 12 years old going through a very difficult time. This song took me to another dimension.
