    This is the best channel for Everything Modular and everything is explained so well, you know when to play the music and stop and speak, you get to the point, your diagrams are super important and you also open up a lot of possibilities for creators, just wanted to Thank You. Cheers!

    Great video, as always! Very inspirational. Although having lots of sampling capabilities in my eurorack system (Disting etc), I do not often work with samples. This analytical approach motivates me to go more into that direction...

      Thanks for letting me know! Positive comments really motivate me :) The disting mk4 is actually the module that got me into using sample players a lot, it's a powerfull module and I quickly realised I was pretty much using it as a sample player 24/7. Then got the 4ms, now often use three sample players in my lifesets. All the best!

    Great videos on the 4ms! One module that works really well with the STS is the Mutable Instruments Branches for introducing some probability.

    Hello - really loving your videos!!! Would like to see your process on how you capture and load samples, including field recorders, capture (DAW?) and loading into the modules.

      Hello Jacques! Thanks for the suggestions, that would make an interesting video I think! At the moment im mostly focussing on basic modular videos, but would love to expand with topics like these if the channel grows. All the best!
      PS: Its moslty preparing samples in a DAW. And the 4MS sampler I use works with a small SD card for file transfer.

      @@MonotrailTechTalk Thank you! Recording 16 / 44.1 in the DAW? Stereo files?

      Yes, for the 4MS that works best, although I use it so often as a dual mono sample player I also recorded or changed samples to mono. Especially drums, safes some space. ;)

    Hi Rijnder, whats your opinion on the 1010music bitbox micro - it seems to offer much more than the 4ms ?

    • @MonotrailTechTalk
      @MonotrailTechTalk  3 года назад +2

      Hello! The 1010 for sure offers more when it comes to its 8 sample playback power, and the clear screan for recording and edditing samples. Its very powerful, you can use it as a full drumkit and have samples left for chords, background noises and whatnot. Also for live recording and edditing in the device it's a winner.
      But even though the 4ms only is a dual player, I prefere it because of its direct control over the samples (8 one function knobs against 2 menu knobs). I use the 4ms a lot for percussive sounds during live performances. By using the attack on percussive sounds you can sort of fade sounds in and out. Tweaking the decay on hats can turn a short glitchy sound into a full ride. Tweaking the pitch on percussive sounds is great for live, and I even use the quick sample select knob to create variations within tracks or sets.
      So I think it comes down to how you like to use it!
      EDIT: With attack and decay, I mean start position and sample length. Its not a fade in and out. But it can have this effect when tweaking knobs :)

    I’d love to see a whole video using the STS in a ambient setting. Possibly granular fashion.

      Heya :) You mean a Tech Talk tutorial about that, are just music? Here is little ambient noodling with basically just the 4MS on my music channel, just in case ;) ruclips.net/video/sPoXfioTa0Y/видео.html
