I remember loving this game. By the end, my Russian army consisted of NOTHING but tanks. I just steamrolled my way across Europe and the U.S. with my heavy armor.
i know this comments 5 years old, but just tanks? thats not smart, id deploy anti tank units and take you out easily. You need to deploy a range of units, anti infantry, anti air, anti tank. I always deploy infantry 1st wether that be rilfemen or engineers, then a transport vehicle (transports are very hard to beat, just got to watch out for gunships). then i deploy tanks and artillery, i then deploy gunships, taking uplinks is 1st priority, once u get atleast half the uplinks then go for all out war, 1st go for the uplinks, that is critical. A good stratergy is to send all infantry to different uplinks that are vacant, whilst sending your armour to distract the enemy.
I play Airborne regiments mostly. What they don't tell you is that with hit and run tactics, gunships are ridiculously good. They'll cut down any infantry out in the open and serve as excellent scouts. Early gunships are really a must for me, but they deploy so quickly I usually start with two riflemen or a rifleman and a transport. Also, riflemen in cover beat gunships easily and transports with loses. They say engineers in cover beat all vehicles, but they'll take casualties against tanks. I've also noticed the JSF transports do fantastic against any other transports, but don't kill gunships quite as quickly.
loved this game.... think the voice comand system was brilliant. once you got used to the commands it was very quick and surprisingly it had no problems with my thick scottish accent. worked a dream. hardly ever used the controller on ps3. I actually still have this game on disk and have completed it twice. I don't finish games all that much and don't play a lot of strategy games but this was a little different and played well. a bit samey in some missions but still great fun. Great video...good memories...I may even dig it out for a 3rd attempt ;) I'd love a more odern follow up to this.. would be great in VR mode too with voice commands...superb idea
I remember playing this game when the PS3 first came out I was 8 I think I instantly fell in love with the game and now 10 years later I still play it I still get destroyed on hardcore though haven't won a war yet
+Oraizan Era There's also a very loose tie-in with the Rainbow Six series. Tom Clancy may have been a lousy author, but the games that used his name were always great at cross-promotion
Actually there was apposed to be one, but the game undersold. I don't think they marketed it properly. A bit of a pity really. It had so much potential...
+GoldenZero98 That's what I want to know. Also, did all the alliance systems in the world just collapse or something? Why are only the US, EF, and Russia at war?
+GoldenZero98 Canada helped on many wars , don't know if you know this but the conflict with Russians in 1999 with Albanians Canada actually fought in Albanians side , as this mission on the game is in Albania it looks like the WWIII will somehow start in Balkan
I like to start with a gunship and use it to scout and pick off early units with ease. In numbers they are very op and I think artillery is aswell. I assign gunships to kill armored units and artillery to help aswell and they are unstoppable together
seeing it being played like this makes me want to go out n get it. I only played the demo with no headset so never really looked in that direction until now lol Awesome gameplay though!
Those voice command menues take me back to Socom days. I downloaded this game free on PSN a year or 2 ago and never got round to playing it, gona have to give it a bash
This video may be 8 years but for anyone intersted in still playing the game like i am, infantry are your main units, without infantry you aint gonna get very far, they are more powerful than you think, hard to take out whilst in cover, obviously they have their flaws like any other unit, i can gaurantee if you deploy infantry units and transport (with anti air missles) units. you can win any war.
In this ancient (2012) video, we see a clueless player fail to use Groups, and thus getting his shit pushed in by the IA in the first mission of the campaign.
I never once knew of the voice command in the 5 years that I've played this game, shit my family better get ready cuz it's about to get real serious up in this bitch
I'm not the biggest fan of RTS games (too much point and clicking mayhem) but on finding that this has voice commands, I'd be tempted to play it as I've casually used VAC on a number of games and it works well for me. I've used it as I'm left handed and remap a lot of my essential keys to the keypad and leave others as they are like 1-0 for various weapons. I just map the weapon name to their key and saying pistol, rifle or shotty calls up the weapon I want. VAC is good software to have and dabble with!
huy doan quang This game has built in voice control, which is based on Windows Speech Recognition, so once you download/install the game and learn the commands, you are ready to go. No additional software required :-). You definitely need to download the manual to learn the commands as there are quite a few.
Singleplayer theatre of war pro-tip; if you don't upgrade your units, neither do the enemy. I know, I've played over 300 hours of single player over the years.
Damn, the only reason I didn't last long in this video is the lack of a Pop Filter. I hope you play this again with a Pop FIlter, because if that happens, I'd watch everything I could =D
In this game, the world was on the verge of nuclear war, but it was adverted, but now the US has launched a military space station, which the other countries didn't like.
Isn't there like a turn limit when you play WW3? On my first and only playthrough more than a decade ago, I remember playing as Russia on Normal difficulty (I think) and when I reached turn 21 or a number close to that, the war just ended. I remember having a hard time fully taking over Europe, I was constantly defending Moscow, and I barely touched the U.S. when the war ended. I don't even remember if I won or not, or if a 'cease fire' happened. Does anybody remember if there's a turn limit?
You can go the entire game without buying upgrades. They enemy increases in rank and difficulty as you buy more upgrades so if you buy none they will stay low level I think
for conquests i use 1 engineer and 1 riflemen.my riflemen sneak along themselves while engineers go in transports.THEN I RUN AROUND USING WMD AND FORCE RECON AND LOTS OF ARTILLERY!do u hav ps3 netwerk?
Just obe question how u make ur mouse cursor move with out lag ? Mine moves like if there was a ton of lag but game always cap at 30 fps how can u move the cursor like if u were on desktop ?
Wow I started US campaign about an hour ago and completely forgot about upgrades so I've fought 2 battles with lvl 1s and won! Btw USA Special Forces are the brigade u want for sure!!
How do you change what unit you want to deploy on initial deployment? I know you can do it on console by selecting the unit card and pressing up but how do you do it on PC?
Ahh, I remember this game, damn it's been years..
Yeah so much nostalgia too bad this guy's a noob
Same bro I don't even remember having it😂 I can't play on my ds cause I don't know where my charger is smh😭😯 I had the game since 7yrs old

@Yellow 8 z 😂 😂 😂
Tom Clancy games always have the sickest voie command options
Looking forward to watching this. I've been in love with this game since it's been out, and I'll probably end up playing it again soon.

My question is what the hell Canada is doing in all this

always deploy at least an air unit ion the battle, this way u have air support for ur ground units
13:45 if you look closely, monitor shows combine black fusion core from above (red outline on a blue screen), the one seen in the end of HL2
its basically a new realistic game of dawn of war, where instead of fighting worlds you fight countries... looks really good

Just re-bought this game on amazon for £1.75 hahaha, can "t wait to get it! Gotta dig out my xbox 360 again :)

Good play with voice command i will learn alot from u how using it ,, thanks :D
i love strategy games
I focus deep strike and riflemen a few upgrades spread to boost overall survivability but focus on electronic capture and avoid WMD's
If you play extreme the enemy will actively try to kill your unit when they try to evacuate
And use more often support ability ( EMP just for start )
This is my FAVORITE GAMES FOR EVER Hoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
I miss making kids dashboard and send me messages crying about their dead units. Easy victories.
you made me buy the game
I recommend battlegroup 12 (tactical)they have no disadvantages against standard I am winning campaign with them.

bro, do you know how to change units card during the selection mode? as in I want to choose lower rank units.
+Muhammad Noor Iskandar You can change that in options, so the suggestion is always for the lower ranked unit.
+Filipe Amaral Hi bro! but that applies if your in battle. what I mean is before you enter a battle for the unit selection..
Same deal, and if you click in the units before deploying to battle you can more or less who you want. Not perfect, but good enough.
+Filipe Amaral bro do u have email ? I can talk to you in there?
Find me on Steam, FilipeREP.
I got this game in Uplay
I kind of like the MMO version of this game more. It is easier to understand and get into and I feel like it's more fun. But that's just me.
I chose SGB on my first playthrough. Only faction I loved. All others look and work shit.
How do you change what unit you want to deploy on initial deployment? I know you can do it on console by selecting the unit card and pressing up but how do you do it on PC?
+Reece Webb You click on the card, then click on your unit choice, if I recall correctly.
Nah bud I know how to change the card for something else I mean like, say instead of my level 4 riflemen I want my rank 1 riflemen instead
Ah, afraid I don't remember.
