I love this point about creating a new identity. I agree with Peter … I’m a person who exercises, and I struggle when I don’t. I’m not yet a person who has a great diet. It’s a great way to think about it.

Absolutely spot on. This is what I tell anyone who asks, nothing replaces consistency. Every movement works. Every exercise works. Every piece of equipment in your gym works. But nothing works if you’re not consistent.

The most exposure ive had to lane was through his Instagram which is pretty cringey. This long form conversation I think was a much better way of showcasing his perspectives and was much more enjoyable.

Truth! I lost 80 lbs in 2015 and have kept it off by making a complete life makeover. Consistency is key and I am my only competition. It's a bit of a very cool science experiment as well. If something isn't working, reevaluate and adjust. It feels great to get my life back.

Finding out about both Lane and Peter through Joe Rogan's podcast profoundly affected my love for fitness and nutrition. The fact that they came together for this a huge bonus ! Great podcast guys ! Add in some Dr. Rhonda Patrick and some Greg Doucette and you've got an unbeatable team for exercise, nutrition, recovery, and longevity !

I love that Layne mentioned flexible dieting. I have water to kick him in the nads for beating that dead horse. That doesn’t work for people that want more of a food trigger if they get a taste. He has been open about changing his mind on things as well. He’s a wealth of info.

16 years sober here, and what he says about the alcoholic in recovery is spot on. There’s only one thing that you have to change: Everything.

A friend lost a bunch a weight and started working out and became really lean and super fit we are talking pro level triathlete and cyclist. He now goes by a new name(nick name) and doesn't use his old name at all only on legal docs.
